These any good?

Total waste of space ! The ones with the rotating brush bar are OK but these with the fixed brush are useless . Spend a bit more and get the rotating brushbar model .

It's a shame there's no attachments to do the stairs with.

I’ve got the rotating brush one and can say it’s decent for the price! Kept our carpets clean and keeps the landlord happy! If you use the vax fragrance solution it makes your carpets smell mmmm!8)

Do you have a link? I'm looking for one with a rotating brush that isn't too expensive.

Studio have it for 65. Beware though very poorly designed and it will burn belt out after few uses

Nop. Have one. Not worth the money

Seconding that. These need rotating brush bars to be worth the money I think. I had to clean a carpet with this model recently and ended up scrubbing the carpet manually to get the best results.

Yes ,that's where I got mine , I've had no problems with belts , are you sure you are using it right and not got something jammed in there ? Get through a couple of belts a year on my cylinder lawnmower but the carpet cleaner has been fine .

I tried to post the link last night but it appears that HUKD has fallen out with Studio as they are now banned and HUKD wont let me post the link .

Completely agree, with these cheap carpet cleaners without a spinning brush, you'd end up having to get down on your knees and using a scrubbing brush to do a decent job. You might as well get and use a cheap wet and dry shop vac with a narrow slotted head for sucking up spills rather than one of these, as at least it would have other uses.

If it is anything like my Bissel proheat, I'd check the case above and around the spinning brush for stuck on carpet pile fluff which jams its brush, making the toothed belt jump if it isn't cleaned thoroughly after every use, and also if necessary remove the brush to clear hair and stuff from its bearings/spindle.

Yeah definitely using correctly had 3 replacements already. Too much strain on the belt with the 2 different rotating brushes. Maybe you got lucky

Pretty crap to be perfectly honest. We used to have this and all it does is throw soapy water on the carpet then sucks it up. No actual cleaning of the carpet and it leaves the carpet soaking too.

Made no difference whatsoever in my opinion
Just to agree, these ones don't get very deep and will leave you disappointed. Rotating brush I say, rotating brush!
I'd have to agree with all of the above. We have a Vax Dual Power Pro (spinning and rotating brushes) and its great, i'd definitely recommend. Before that we had the one in the OP and it was rubbish. The static brush makes it really difficult to push on long pile carpet and it doesn't really do much scrubbing anyway.
Agree you need the brushes we got the dual v advance total home, refurbished off ebay 3 years ago fantastic leaves the carpets dry with max extract
Edited by: "exmoormaid" 24th Sep 2018
These static brushes are rubbish in fact a good vacuum cleaner will probably clean your carpets better than this, I used one which did nothing except get the carpet wet, go for the one with the rotating brush, I use the Bissell powerwash cleaner which have very good results. Occasionly sellers have new stock at half price on eBay.
These are truly pointless. Go on ebay and buy a refurbished higher end model. Or if you only want to do upholstery, stairs and car then buy a normal wet and dry "shop" vac from Screwfix. Buy carpet cleaning fluid and a suitable brush and bucket.
Hand clean the area you want to clean. Buy a carpet cleaning nozzle off ebay for £16.99, this one works well and fits my shop vac.

If anyone's looking for the model rogparki recommended above (thank you again!), it has since sold out on both appliancesdirect.co.uk and amazon (£104.99). The one mentioned above in Studio doesn't have the stair attachment.
I found the model with the attachment at freenetelectrical.co.uk for £91.98, next day shipping included. I had never heard of freeNet but after a bit of searching they seemed decent, so I took a chance and ordered. My order arrived yesterday, used it today. I'm pleased. Worth checking them out if you're hunting for a carpet washer with rotating brushes and a stair tool. freenetelectrical.co.uk/vax…er/
