In the same position, but I think our Dyson is on it's last (bagless) legs. Seems like a good deal though.

I've not got this model, but I bought a Vax earlier in the year from Argos and can honestly say I was amazed how powerful it was - it compared very well with Dysons I've previously owned. (I've still got a Dyson at home, the Vax is for the caravan).

The design is not quite as well thought-out as a Dyson (things like how you wind the lead), but the cleaning power is fantastic.

I paid a similar price, so I guess this would be just as good and I'd say go for it.

My dyson is falling apart 2. I suppose for this price I dont really have much to loose. Happy xmas to me!

Word of warning, check how much the filters cost.

I bought a VAX when they were on offer in Argos. Paid £35 for it. First two weeks it was amazing on full power.
Then the filter started to clog. Clean it out best you can and you'll get another 10 minutes use out of it each time.
Replacements? £17 each... (it came with two)

I have the older version of this and its great. In fact I might get one of these anyway. Wifes present sorted!

Additional Information :This has a Washable filter.
I paid £40 to get mine fixed two weeks ago, so I am gutted.

reserved the folks needed a new hoover so this will be a good joint present and then a sneaky somethig on the side for them! Cheers OP

Ty have been after a new hoover;)

I have a really bad back atm so can't use the Henry we currently own

Does anyone know if this has variable suction or different suction settings?

As it's small and lightweight it could be just what my mums looking for (she's 70) but she would like one with variable suction as it can be hard to push a really powerful suction hoover on long pile carpets.

I'm going to order one for myself to replace my old and huge Dyson which is falling to bits! and which I only use for the hose and tools! perfect, so thanks Op.

Thank you for the feedback. I've just ordered one for myself as it's too good to miss at this price. My Mum can try it out and hope that there's some stock left if she decides she wants one! Thanks again.

I bought one today as my dyson is falling about. I agree the Dyson is better thought out and a more sturdy robust design but I didn't want to pay through the nose for a hoover. I've only used the hoover once so far on my long pile rug. It hoovered up a shed load of crap (shows how bad my Dyson was getting). I found it harder to push that the Dyson though. Also the lead is a lot shorter than a Dyson (if that's what you're used to). For £40 though I'm not complaining. Reviews say hard to put together but it's not.

Depends if you want a vacuum cleaner or a carpet washer.

That's pretty much spot on. Bought one last night and used it instead of the half-dead dyson. Yes, totally agree that the lead is shorter than the dyson, plus it does seem harder to push around. However, in terms of lugging it around and up and down the stairs, it's about a third lighter than the dyson, so overall - for £40, a great bargain.
