Vax Floormate V-120 £90 off reduced to £59.91 in Currys

I've just picked up a Vax Floormate V-120 in Currys for £59.91. Seems like an absolute bargain as still £149 on Vax website. I see that Amazon have now reduced it down as well but I prefer to go to an actual shop to purchase if possible so any problems and I'm not messing about having to post it back.

I've just used it to dry vac my parquet flooring and it has come up lovely!

I usually go around my floors with a sweeping brush and then a steam mop, however I hate washing the microfibre cloths after use. This made it dead simple, just pour the dirty water down the sink.... and to my disgust it was filthy water! Left the floors spotless.

Its got a two year guarantee so even if it packs up after that its a great little machine for thirty quid a year.

Yup if you see my comment you will notice I already mentioned this. If it goes wrong, I prefer to go to a bricks and mortar store and get an exchange rather than messing about boxing it up to send it back then waiting for a response.

Depants, its a good option if you have no Curry's nearby. Hopefully mine won't go wrong, its just so easy to go back to a shop if it does.

PS I have now done my whole downstairs... sad lol!

Since when have Curry's ever done an exchange straight off. They usually have to send it off to be looked at and repaired, which can take weeks, then they tell you it is misuse or water damage.

Are they bad for exchange then? Luckily i've never took anything back to them. I try to use John Lewis or similar if I buy a high value item but I'm not too worried as this was only £60

what does this do exactly? is it a vacuum or a steam mop or two in one?

Its a three in one so it dry vacuums which I found very useful as I have dogs and its more thorough than a brush and easier than dragging out my big vac everytime I want to mop. Then its a cleaner, ie a trigger expresses water onto rotating brushes that wash the floor before the vacuum suctions up the mess. It can also be used to clean up wet spills.

I have a steam mop but even when I brush the floors before mopping, I still end up with dog hair and gunge to clean off the microfibre heads. This machine left the floors looking much cleaner to be honest. I'm pleased with it.

thanks might look to get one. is it quite bulky or easy to store and would you say it could replace your normal vacuum cleaner?

Original Poster

I wouldn't say it can replace my normal vacuum because that is a cylinder so I can use the attachments for the corners and such but I think I am going to be able to use it on a regular basis for a quick once around the downstairs rooms. Its bagless as well so I can just empty the container out daily instead of having a stinky hoover bag.

As for storage, well its the size of a vacuum cleaner but the handle does fold down flat for storing in a cupboard. Mine will just fit in the understairs cupboard so not a problem.

I've got a vax vacuum cleaner and you just contact vax directly and pay about £6 to cover postage and they'll send you a new one out instead of repairing. Well this was the case about 2 years ago I haven't needed a repair since.
