I was looking for a new vacuum cleaner right now and saw this. The problem is this is the one I have now and it's crap! I can't understand why the reviews are so good. The roller is constantly getting clogged up with hair (pet and human) and needs to be manually cleaned out and untangled after every use. And the sliding handle has broken so it's constantly sliding up and down. It's also hard to manoeuvre and feels like it's dragging along the carpet. I thought there was something wrong with it, I've actually taken it all apart, cleaned it out and re-assembled it several times and after one use it's the same as before. If you don't have carpets and no one in your family has hair it should be OK though.
Well, to counteract the first comment, we’ve got one of these. Got forced into it as our Dyson had packed up. We actually felt after a week that it was performing better than the Dyson did.

Yes, it does get hair wrapped round the roller, but the Dyson did that too-guess it’s inevitable with anything that rolls over the carpet and sucks at the same time.

We also registered it with Vax and got a 7 year warranty. Only issue we had was that it one day just stopped. Nothing. Cut out. Wouldn’t turn on. Contacted Vax, as it was registered, they sent out a brand new one, had it in two days.

Decent machine on my opinion, and a bargain at £40.

We are the complete opposite. It is a really good Hoover.
I've got 2 Vax.
They both have dubious build quality, issues raised above are also my experience.
Registered warranty, 2 years on my ones. Vax send replacement parts when u call them.
I've called 3 times in last 3 years for my 2 machines.
Hot from me.

No stock anywhere near me I will say what first comment says and you need to unwrap the mounds of hair frequently drives me nuts but for the money and warranty it’s a good deal
Reserved for collection, thanks OP

Absolutely horrific products and just as bad service! I’ve had about 8 hoovers and the warranty period isn’t even up yet! Ridiculous company, no idea how they stay in business.

I bought a little Bush one from Argos last month - £42.99 and it’s got 10 times more power than any nonsense Vax product.
2 years warranty, down from 6 years. Clearly no confidence in their quality.
Its no shark

We've got a more expensive model vax and the handle on ours was doing the same before it snapped off. With some regular maintenance we got three years use out of it.
Dyson or vax folks
