Would frankly avoid this, bought it, used on the house, honestly it's a nightmare, the tanks are so small it would get fill up every few minutes. Does your back in, changing water constantly, it also uses the detergent at an extremely fast level. It cleans the carpet good however but too much of a headache. After about 2 days of use it wouldnt turn on, vax sent a replacement, which was brand new so just sold it. Not worth it if you ask me. Extremely hard to clean aswell, remove a few screws to get the head out and its sbit tricky. I would in future go for a bigger tank one, saves so much time

I have had one of these for a while and I have to agree with other comments about it not being great. Right from the beginning it felt like the brush mechanisms were really struggling to turn on a very average carpet. There are some kind of clutches that are constantly slipping. It also doesn’t seem to have much suction power at all, meaning the dirty water tank is often almost empty. Lastly, as already mentioned the design is such that loads of fluff from the carpet gets stuck under the moveable plastic head and you have to disassemble quite a few parts to clean it properly (edited)

Are there any carpet cleaners that don't weigh a tonne? They are so unappealing to use generally. Is there such a thing as a handheld cleaner to do quick bits if carpet that my 4 year has decided needed to be a different colour?

Plenty of handheld spotters on the market by Vax, Bissell, Rug Doctor etc.

This is a good deal. Quite a few reviews mention it leaving the carpets very wet and dripping cleaning excess fluid when moving about. Also poor build quality, but it does come with a 6 year warranty. Can't decide between this or the Bissell PROHEAT 2X REVOLUTION PET PRO which £279. 99, which also come with 6yr warranty.

I went with Bissell PROHEAT 2X REVOLUTION PET PRO, is great, Carpets arent drenched after use and you can definitely see the difference. I just bought it in December for £199, and I'd say quite often it comes close to £200-£220 mark

Does anyone know of the best carpet cleaner to buy please? Ideally not a Vax, if they’re anything like their hoovers! Have an XL dog, and although he has his feet wiped/washed (sometimes!) when he comes in, he still leaves marks! 🙈

Our first one would not stay upright ( would not lock in )
Vax sent a new one out and picked up the original at the same time.
It does do a nice job, just don't expect miracles.

Worth the money though. (edited)
