Cheers guys, we tested it out earlier and realised that the carpet wasn't as clean as we thought!!!! So far so good - comes with a 6 year warranty too!!

Spend 1p more and get £10 voucher too!

Hi All

Went for this deal. Reserved the above i.e VAX U90 MA-R for £99.99

The wife went to collect the vacuum and we've been given a VAX U89-MA-T for the same price. Didn't notice in store

All seems a bit odd to me. Are these the same cleaner or different specs ? Slightly concerned as U89-MA-T is not on Vax's web site any more.

Wow.... That one Is selling for £229.99 - you definitely got a bargain there!

be warned this hoover is total crap I just got one and the hose keeps braking off where the connecters are when you try and do the stairs and I only got 2mtrs up every time I tried it, I just read the reviews and what a surprise other people have said the same thing!! it claims to be worth £250 now £100, my £80 dyson was better build quality and lasted over 8yrs this one lasted less then 1min once I started on the stairs.

I bought this Vacuum Cleaner to replace my old Dyson, which it outperforms. Argos gave me the U89-MA-T model instead, which is slightly better due to more attachments. It's powerful, light, cheap and has a 6 year warranty.

True! I have the mach air reach and when it was new the plastic clips which hold together all the hoses broke off within a few days. 2 years on its still works although it blocks very easily. A new set of filters will also set you back £20.

That's what happened to me on the first day of purchase. I just emailed/phoned Vax and told them my problem, they sent a replacement free of charge with no questions asked.

Reserved one ta

We bought one and I was pleased with it for the first 6 weeks, until the hose broke off! I had to wait for 2 weeks for a replacement hose, which I was expected to fit myself. My Dyson lasted 9 years

I bought (and returned) this vacuum a year ago at £100 from Asda direct. When you use the hose to clean stairs etc the whole thing becomes top heavy and topples over, a LOT. It is also so powerful it really grabs hold of some rugs, carpets etc and lifts them off the floor, this can be a real annoyance at times.

I bought one of these in the last vax sale....its brilliant...even after hoovering the house and emptying the waste, hoovering again kept picking up even more dust...only annoying thing is its designed for reaching longer distances and its not as easy to reach because of the retractable plastic hose. Also the heads you get for the hose, there's none particularly useful for the stairs.

Good deal, I'm surprised there aren't more "Cold, not a Dyson" posts

I know, if it was a dyson post, I'd have said so!!

Good vacuum no problems with ours. However it was this price when I bought it six months ago from Sainsburys so its not really a bargain, more its normal price.

Got for the same price @ Amazon just over a year back. Good machine.

Same happened to mine but phoned them and got replacements sent really quickly! Hoover is so good I bought one for my parents too! Better than spending twice as much on a dyson!!!

Absolute rubbish.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Or any other Vax product, trust me.

I'm on product three in 15 months, their customer service is diabolical also.

Just get a Dyson!!!

PS: Justification; Hoover No1 just stopped picking stuff up when using as an upright. Complained as it was only a few months old & they agreed to send a new model.

Said new model never arrived, had to chase the delivery, get another sent; absolute mess. They then cocked up the delivery...

No2 was a Mach Air Reach (exactly the same product code as above) and, quelle surprise, the hose has also snapped the first time I tried to use this with the tools.

Have emailed their utterly rubbish Customer Service team, it took them two weeks over to reply to one email, and still waiting on another response currently. Been told we can have a replacement Hoover sent - why? So this can also break...?

Honestly; spend a bit more and get a Dyson. Yes there's a 6 year extended warranty, but the inconvenience of having to keep calling them, emailing, getting new hoovers delivered, not having a hoover for days/weeks etc outweighs the warranty..

I've tried two Vax hoovers and they've both been cheaply made and not worth the money. Dyson are way overpriced too (yes, I've had one). I've now got a Henry, best vacuum I've ever had. I know why builders, offices and shops etc use them now.
