I managed to get the Vax Vacuum and Steam mop for £125 (should have been around £310)

Got one of these for my grandparents as they were struggling to move their old Dyson. It's absolutely brilliant. Very lightweight and they couldn't believe how much dust it pulled out of the carpet considering it had been hoovered the same morning!

I got this from amazon deal at Christmas... Great vacuum

Thank you for posting!
Ordered :-)

Just wondering wht the min spend is with the £10off voucher

There is no minimum spend as far as I am aware. Not sure how it would work if the item was less then £10 but don't think they will give change.

Great deal, went with the steam mop too which came with a hand held steamer too which is fantastic. Great spring clean begins!

How do you get the hand held steamer free???

It came in the same box as the Steam Mop and also stated on the box "FREE Handheld Steam Cleaner + Stick Steam Cleaner Accessories"

I would double check before you purchase it that it did, but i assume it's a national deal although doesn't mention it on the website, was a nice surprise for £24.99!

it doesn't mention it on the website but hopefully in the box when i pick it up tomorrow.

I've been looking at VAX to replace our current 8.65 kg power 6 with 330 air watts.
Are 200 air watts versions actually any good from personal experience ?

I noticed the Steam Mop model i bought was different from the one i received, i've just searched up and Argos have actually give me the VAX S87-CX1-B model not the Vax S88-W1M-B model. Argos don't sell the S87-CX1-B model so i'm not sure how i ended up with it, but this model S87-CX1-B included the hand held free, not sure if this was the same for whatupgangstas?

Sorry i didn't see your previous message, but i've had a quick spin of the whole house today, and it's fantastic in comparison to our 5 year old Dyson which was £300 back then. Light weight and easy to move, the cord is long, the extension reaches out really far and the suction is brilliant. There is also a feature too turn off the brushbar so it doesn't damage hard floors.

I'm assuming they are giving these S87-CX-B models out for whoever orders this S88-W1M-B model Steam Mop (we'll find it soon)

But the only place I could find the S87-CX-B was on e-bay "Argos Seconds" store, where they are selling refurbished for £25 reduced from £50.

The hand held steamer that comes free is called "VAX GrimeMaster" and is also on Sainsburys for £49.99 and John Lewis £29.99 just on it's own.

It has pretty good suction. I bought one about 3 weeks ago as my wife was finding our Dyson DC07 too heavy at 7.3 kilos. It's not going to be as powerful as your 330 air watts but that will be one of the reasons why your vacuum is so heavy as it will have a lot more powerful motor.

The Vax is an excellent buy for the money and has some nice features. Please remember it is not a Dyson and if you wanted the equivalent in a Dyson it will cost you over £300 for their ultra light upright. That too is low on air watts but I think you will find the Vax will be ok. On the suction side I can't hoover our bath mat as it just sticks to the hoover due to the suction being so strong. It's a bit difficult on thick pile carpets again due to the suction so hopefully you will be happy with that. I know we are and we would purchase this product again.

Thanks for reply.. i had ordered it but changed to the Vax U88-AM-P Air³ Pet Multi-Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner £114 hughes (amazon which Argos are trying to sell for £266. Ill keep it empty and im sure it will be fine.

Just remember that the U90 is called the Reach because it comes with the extension hose for the stairs which the U88 doesn't have. Quite a few people have left negative reviews as the standard hose isn't long enough. The U88's hose is 3.2m at stretch. It's also 1 kilo heavier but has better air watts at 320 and a 3 litre tank. It swivels too which may be useful but some say this puts strain on the wrist.

smaryguy..the VAX names are a little confusing. the one I bought is still 225 air watts but is about same weight as the deal item. we have dog leg stairs so 3.2 should be fine. it's probably not as good a deal as the posted one but I fancy the gimichy steering bit dispute not needing it as its really light anyway.
Just checked the phone amazon mobile phone version for the u88 am-p and it says a 1.5 metre hose although the compare the range section (desktop)says its 3,2 metre. There just have to pay to take it back if it is only 1.5...never bl**dy simple is it.

I think you will find it will be ok. If you like the vacuum just buy the extension hose if the one on yours isn't long enough. It will be worth it to have the gimmicky steering. My wife test drove it in Currys but it was up at £249.99 so we ended up buying the one from Argos when it came on offer. I am sure you will be well pleased with it. We bought ours not to replace our Dyson DC07 but just for the wife to use as a daily run around. We have a long haired cat which exhales fluff on a daily basis. The Vax copes with it well and I give the house a good going over at the weekend and since we bought the vax I haven't used the Dyson.

Thanks just got ths with some bin bags (for the £10 off voucher). I then bought the steam mop also advertised on here, with the £10 off voucher. It got subisituted for the one with the vax grime buster as a free gift as well. So £125 for the Hoover steam mop and grime buster.
