Ok, not the most amazingly exciting offer but after our Dyson blew up at the weekend I went looking for a replacement and this has got very good reviews all round; a number of people have said that it is better than the Dysons.

Next cheapest is Argos or Currys at £119.99 and after that you are looking at up to £240 elsewhere.

Thanks for that. So which one would you go for out of the 2 ?

ive gone for the £72 (after discount) pet one cheers plumberman you should post this as a deal

Well the cheaper one is reconditioned. I've read somewhere that the more expensive one is cumbersome, loud and heavy. Looks it too.

It's worth it to spend the extra on a vacuum as it will last in the long run. I bought the next modelup of this VAX last week and it really is awesome (£138 on Amazon atm). It's the highest rated vacuum on there and comes with 6 year warranty. I can carry it up stairs with ease in one hand, and the suction is so much better than the previous Dyson - I was actually shocked at the dust it picked up after I'd only cleaned up with the Dyson an hour earlier!

i disagree so strongly...i have gone for the £27 one as i have the big VAX cylinder one with 6 year warranty and the tiny Bissell cylinder i got last week had a full drum after one vacuum! Its small and ofcourse will need emptying more often but i can carry it upstairs and it fits in a small cupboard. Tha little Bissell is great for upstairs-i just want an upright cos of my extra thick lounge carpet.
As i said before i dont see a vacuum cleaner as an investment-for £27 if i get one year out of it and it works well thats great.
I had a carpet cleaner which was recon from this site and it was perfect cond..

this is the cylinder for £23
