Vax's suck little bits break off all the time!

None of these use a vortex type of bagless technology (Like Dyson, possibly others), so you constantly need to clean the filter out as it just sucks through it.

we have one of these. I'm sure it was only £55 at Tesco?

Vax were good 10 years ago. Now they're rubbish. Suction messes up after few months. And you can't even return it to the store you got it from, you have to go through vax customer service.

Avoid Vax. Buy Miele.

There's two different Vax model classes, the budget ones and the more expensive ones... it all depends on which you get.

I personally wouldn't rate Cylinders (won one in a competition, used it once and never again) but the Air3 uprights for example are superb... just read the reviews and you'll see. Also they do need upkeep required, filters need to be cleaned every couple of months etc. That's the main reason the suction lessens...

I've posted Vax Factory Sale deals here and they've gotten loads of heat, with pretty much nobody coming back and saying about how poor the cleaner turned out to be either.

As for the CS... it's one of the best I've ever dealt with. Why is it such a problem it can't go back to store? If Vax don't have the replacement part to send out (for free), they'll arrange a courier to collect yours and give you a whole new cleaner! And if that model isn't in stock they'll give you the next one up. And that's a 6-year warranty on the good models...

Argos definately don't take it back. They say to ring up Vax CS.

That's what I mean. You just deal with Vax direct instead... the most effort you're required to do is put the bag they send out and they'll either straight swap with a new one or you have to wait a few days for the replacement. Much easier than lugging it to Argos IMO.

Vax machines fall apart... Terrible!

Rubbish product. I bought one from Sainsburys. Useless.

That is against the law. Your contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer.
