All this for 5 Pounds a month (30 day contract)

• 300 mins
• 300 texts
• 300 MB
- 1000 mins Vectone to Vectone
- 1000 texts Vectone to Vectone

OR all this for 9 pounds a month (30 day contract)

• 500 mins
• Unlimited texts
• 1 GB
• 5000 mins Vectone to Vectone

OR all this for 10 pounds a month (30 day contract)

• 1000 mins
• Unlimited texts
• 1 GB
• 5000 mins Vectone to Vectone

Set this up for my father and works fine, on EE network which is FAST for data.

If you port you number your first top up gives you extra credit. So after port if you top £20 for example you get £30=6 months line rental @£20 not bad! If you top £30 you get £45= 9 months line rental @£30.

That would mean a cost of about £3.33 for 300 minutes/text/mb

Does the internet setting work for iPhone? and do you have to edit the settings for it to work?

I don't use an iphone but you can use the Tweaker app to setup any UK network

Thanks for this, will give this a try when the O2 contract runs out.

this seems the best deal yet, but need reviews

Vectone seem to have a habit of changing their plans/minutes all the time.
Read bad things about their customer service: trustpilot.co.uk/rev….uk
The "You get what you pay for" saying springs to mind...

I've been looking at these but the reviews online are putting me off. There are a few not-too-bad sim only deals showing up on the carphone warehouse website, i'm wondering whether to just pay slightly more and get a network I trust now.

Sounded all good until I read the reviews. Been on giffgaff for years but slowly noticing o2 signal is weak in a lot of places now. My other half is with EE and perfect wherever we go so want to go down that route

Nope 3G, three do a sinister deal for £6.90 with 4g but has a 12 month contract

why's it sinister for £6.90 ? Id understand if it was £6.66 lol

As an alternate (not 4g) if you are looking for something now that Ovivo's gone I've been looking around today and the best cheap option I can find so far is three's 321 pay as you go offering for light users . (Get a free sim top it up with £10 credit ,then calls are 3p min, texts 2p each, and data 1p per mb. so long as you use it at least once every 6 months the credit wont expire).

NB that's a £10 top-up NOT the 'all in one add on' £10 option which lasts just 30days*

I moved to this from O2. Ideal for my use (PAYG £12 for unlimited data, unlimited texts, 500 minutes, Unlimted Vectone-to-Vectone etc). Strangely the 3G Speeds are better than my virgin SIM(no idea why because they are both using EE network).

But they are better suited if you are making tonnes of international calls like me (e.g. 0.5p/min to India& China, 1p/min to Autralia etc).

    @rapid111111:
Are you using an RBS debit card? I had the same issue with an RBS card but with my Barclays card it went straight through. After a few minutes I got a call from RBS Fraud prevention department to confirm this payment!

I popped in my giffgaff sim and was pretty surprised to see my reception bars go from 1-2 to 4-5

o2 really must have the best reception for myself, shame giff gaffs deals are pretty poor I would have imagined the £7.50 service would be more then 200 mins and 250meg.... that is really poor compared to tesco or Vectone mobile.

May op for Vectone a fiver a month seems closest to ovivo plan and cheapest.....
    hotukdeals.com/dea…464

but may look at 3g since need a bit more internet perhaps.

looks like either 3 2 1 or gg, for me, not paying £5 a month to vectone who could just as easy go the same way as ovivo

If giff gaff had really good reception, then tesco should have the same (they're both on o2 network). So I think your best choice is tesco.

I seriously doubt that (Vectone is not Free unlike Ovivo and it's deals are not that cheap considering all the cashback deals offered by major networks such as Tmobile).

Take a look at the reviews. Would not touch them with someone else's bargepoll.

Pity though £5 for the data seems a good price. And it's EE.

Take a look at the reviews.

If anyone else knows of a good carrier that use EE for a good price I'd be greatfull for any information.

I used to use Vectone PAYG schemes but started a contract last year. The connectivity to internet is not very good. Even the customer care is not helpful and professional. Long waits on the customer care numbers and they even lie at times. Even no heed is paid to escalations. They even keep changing the ISD call rates.
