VEETEE MICROWAVE RICE, Basmati, Pilau etc HALF PRICE @TESCO 74P

This is the best rice around, ideal for student or lazy people (I am both!)

This stuff actually tastes great too, much better than any rice i've tried to make myself.

Only for Basmati, Long grain basmati and Pilau types (maybe on more in other stores but mine only stock these 3 anyway)

I know it's the same price in Morrisons but not everyone has a store nearby.

Hope this helps someone

Great Rice
Always has a funny smell to me this rice??
Just read an article in a magazine that says rice is an 'aging' food and causes wrinkles!
only ever eaten basmati and thai jasmine and never notices a bad smell, possibly a dodgy pack?

Thai jasmine actually smells and tastes as good as i've had in restaurants, gutted my tesco don't stock it, no morrisons around either
bought 4 packs today - hot deal!
Agree I like this rice and so quick and easy.
mmm nom nom nom, thanks op
Good stuff this, can't go wrong for 74p.
I find these to be really good portions, really nice rice too.
I've had this before and didnt like it. I prefere the Uncle Bens which is often down a roughly £1 bag on promotions. So I but loads when one is on.
This is an expensive way to buy rice.
Morrisons have it for the same price also
I used to love this stuff but lately it seems to come out in solid chunks instead of the'fluffy' way it used to.

Because of this i've reverted back to Tilda, much better IMO
Microwave rice is 49p in home bargains, so well worth a visit if one local to you, good price for Teeco though! Didn't like the mushroom rice but the other ones were nice!

Not really, not if you take into account the time and energy it takes to cook normal rice.

Possibly ..i bought it off Amazon!
Seconding (thirding, fourthing...) good review for this rice. Probably the best I've had from the microwave.

You can cook normal rice in a microwave. BTW you don't have to watch it go round and round, you can go and do something else and just listen out for the ping. (_;)
agree very nice, but seconded on staying clear of the mushroom version. Nasty rubber smell and bitter taste after cooking.

Totally agree.
It takes a lot longer though and this tastes much nicer.
one the morrisons deal thread quite a few people reported mould in their rice so check it over before eating this one.

I think that was the case with the mushroom one. Shame as the others are nice.

Was it mould though? I've had this before and what I thought at first was mould was in fact just oxidised starch discolouring a few of the grains
