The vega 56 is a good 1080p and 1440p graphics card with 8gb hbm2 VRam.

Is a good price but as usual there’s some huge changes that imminent in this performance bracket. New AMD and Nvidia offerings this month. I think under £200 for the blower V56 would be more realistic.

It’s been under £200 on offer. Just remember that this is EOL since June so when they’re gone they’re gone and stocks will be getting low now, if you want a Vega now is probably the only time to buy.

Think I should pair this GPU with a 1080p 240hz monitor? And a Ryzen 3600. Or would I be better off going with a Nvidia gpu? Planning on trying some emulation too

Tbh it'll be good with most, I paired my with a 2600x which clocked all cores @ 4.1 from the start and an MSI x470 mobo.
You'll get over 100fps on most 2k Res games and high 60/70 @ 4k

Thanks for the advise, I was thinking 3600 with a Vega 56 or something for the next year or 2 then upgrade the gpu. Suppose I could do Vega 56 and a 2600x then upgrade both in a few years

Prob the same as what I was planning just make sure you get a future proofed mobo like an x470. Wouldn't bother with the 5 tbh.
The 56 you can pickup for £150+ so if you can get the 64 for £200 then go for it personally I'm happy with the 56

There may be a good card coming out from NVIDIA that will disrupt pricing at the 150-200 level.

The 1660 is getting a 'super' model that should be between a 1660 and a 1660ti, but it is rumored to retail for 150. This would shake the pricing of a lot of cards up.
