Not meat but they don't mind butter and egg in their desserts. Yes, they are animal products. I am not a vegan but I voted hot. I don't mind some vegan food.

I am not a thoroughbred vegan, but I do tend to eat vegan most of the time.

Funny! I actually do! I think because I rarely eat meat and diary these days, I feel the benefits.

We hunger for what we feed on, and I crave fresh fruit and veg much more than meat

Fantastic thank you, been needing some easy recipes to go with new home gym and calories supplied so perfect just what I needed. Great timing.
Unlike most books decent and very easy recipes also, I just glance over most and give up, to lazy.
vegan 4yrs, I could do with some more recipes, got a bit lazy the last year trying so many new foods, can't keep up, all these supermarkets keep bringing out new exciting food. Best burger I have ever had in my life is Beyond burger, Applewood cheese and This isn't bacon.
Should a food lifestyle be all or nothing?

Where did you buy it? I do like applewood taste!

I don’t think so.
I can have months eating vegan, but doesn’t mean I get the t-shirt

But the following months I can eat pork as a salad...

I am sure there are as many opinions as people.
I have always thought vegan is bland... until I tried some... now I really love some of the dishes out there!

Hey honest question - have a good think about this - Do u think u really liked the best burger / cheese/ bacon because u tricked ur body into thinking it was actually getting the nutrients it needs?

Not trolling - really interested

Asda to begin with but now Tesco do it. I did pop in Asda yesterday and they got a new applewood that looks it might have a bit of a spice to it.

I put spinach on as well so least I get some good stuff. Being vegan don't mean you can't enjoy junk. I love the taste of meat, I ate it every day. I changed mostly due to health as I have colitis and I was lucky in a lot of ways as I got it mild compared to a lot. So rather than wait till it got worse I thought I would change things.
It was a huge change for me as I ate whatever my parents gave me, my cookings skill was pizza in the oven, beans on toast. Now I do all my own shopping and cooking. Switching was weird esp the first few weeks, you get meat sweats, you go number 2 a lot more than usually esp the 1st couple weeks but that's due to your body adjusting. Man did I fart a lot in the first month.
I soon learned how bad animals were treated and then the thing I care about most the environment. I still find it odd that I care so much since I'm middle aged and got no kids to see this horrible future we've created for them.
Anyway as I do love meat, I love a lot of these meat alternatives, its shocking how good some things taste, tofu is disgusting. I get this kebab stuff, amazing, Beyond burger is the best I tried so far but even before that came out, I was spoiled for choice. This isn't bacon is crazy how close it is to the real thing. I love my food, I get excited about it all the time cuz its new, a lot of new flavours where as if i was still on my meat, just same stuff all the time.

Ok cool good for u mate

How is the colitis? Has it healed it completely?
Ps our cows in the U.K. are good for the environment - no cows equals no grasslands equals no top soil and desertification.

Not completely. I've been looking at how I've lived my life, kept a general idea of what may have caused/makes it worse. Food was a definite, I found dairy was one but that I ignored as I love chocolate, cheese pizza, ice cream and crunch corners. I found stress being a huge problem. When I was diagnosed and leading up to it, I wasn't working but under a lot of pressure from my Dad, we use to argue daily on me getting job to a point I just avoided him altogether staying in my room, only leaving for food, bathroom. Then the job I did get, made things worse, being shouted at on the phone everyday, 100+ calls a day was just horrible, started gaining weight, worked 9-6 and often would have to get to and from work myself so leaving when it was dark, not coming home till it was dark. Barely went outside during the weekend either.
Then when life got to a point where I was struggling for attempted suicide, I changed my life around, quit my job after 4yrs and did something I had always wanted to do, fear was that if my colitis got worse, I would never be able to do much travel. Spent 80 days travelling across America, other than a couple gotta go now moments due to what I had eaten, I had zero pain. I wasn't vegan at the time either.
When I got home, you could sense the pain slowly creeping back, job talk kept arising, more arguments and before I knew severe pains again. Stress was definitely a factor but I couldn't do much about that. I researched food and found it can help so did a month challenge for myself, noticed benefits and ended up just carrying on. Eventually I got to a Dr and ended up diagnosed with autism so doing the wrong jobs my entire life so my Dad completely changed and now fully supports me so that stress went away.
I don't think we can ever get a cure unless its like a vaccine or something similar in the future but we can definitely ease the symptoms. Last time I did see my specialist, he couldn't believe the change I had made from when we first met and I was diagnosed in 2010.
I have also been reading a new report that came out recently how they believe Vitamin D is very important to auto immune, it was talking about it against Covid but found that auto immune systems can improve with more Vitamin D ( I do remember there is a pill you can take which uses UV light inside to ease pain )

Good for u pal.. it takes a lot to change ur life. Seriously good job! I hear this a lot!

Yeah I’m doing a lot of vitamin D stuff. But I have a different perspective. Currently experimenting with carnivore diet and being out on the sun as much as possible. Where before I would go from white to red to burn to peel.. since I’ve started eating only red meat - I’ve now got a great tan and never burn.

I’ve tried carnivore as had both autoimmune and mental health issues with vegan when I was doing that. Also huge issues with bowels. But they have instantly stopped. Which I find crazy.

It works for you clearly .. as you're a slim size 8 Girl now!
don't mind vegan food and remember having an awesome vegetarian mean once that was out of this world for a "non-meat" dish ..... however I want to see a book called "How to kill and enjoy plants.. and be Vegan".... Just so it doesnt feel like they are skirting the idea that eating something that isnt "meat" means it isnt living.

I like to eat healthier food these days. Some Vegan dishes can be quite high in calories.

Size 8 you say?!
