Veho Pebble 5000mAH portable battery for USB devices £34.74 @ Amazon

Amazon currently have the Veho Pebble portable battery for only £35.77.

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's essentially a USB backup battery that can charge any USB device (requiring less than 950ma). It comes with a bunch of cables, but you can also use any USB cable that comes with a device you own.

The 5000mAH capacity is enough to charge the iPhone 3G 4 times before it needs to be recharged itself.

(Note: This will not charge the iPad, as it requires 1 Amp when turned on - many people report that it will charge fine with the iPad fully turned off, though)

Edit: This price is a result of a great amazon price fight with a marketplace seller - where it seems to automatically reduce amazon's price to compete!

Edit 2: Dropped even further! 34.74 from Amazon.

Yeh, thats amazon screwing up! Obviously it contains the batteries (non-user replaceable). The device itself charges over USB from a PC.

great stuff, got this on my list of gadgets i need - cheers!

Pretty poor value compared to the iDol unit that was recently on offer from Scan. I realise that the Scan offer has expired, but Scan frequently have the iDol on the '"Deal of the Day" page so I would expect to see it again within a couple of weeks.

I have also noticed that the Veho is not supplied with a charger, you have to charge via USB, the iDol does have a mains charger.

Not sure whether should be a new thread, but is now showing down at £27.99 @ amazon

£33.09 now then (including postage - that price is from seller Digital Components Ltd) ...hmm, might cancel my order then....or should i stick with amazon....don't suppose it matters....

Not sure whether this helps anyone, as seen as Amazon can't decide how much to charge.

scan.co.uk/Pro…ore - £28.18 inc vat + delivery, unless you get this free through avforums.

I think you should post this as a deal, dude! - It's way better than this one

Anyone got first hand experience of these? I'm going hiking for the weekend, and wanted an external charger for my iPhone. I was tempted by the Kensignton charger, but this looks as if it has more adapters for different phones and gadgets.

The kensington one is much, much smaller capacity (about 3 times, i think!)
