Isnt a shame so many gadgets expect you to have your computer on so you can charge them. It almost makes sense now to convert all your home plug sockets to USB sockets. Well, until that is feasible you can purchase the USB Mains Charger.

Forehead slapping easy, just plug into your mains plug socket and then insert your gadget's USB plug into this minimal 21st century plug and hey presto electricity is whooshed into your beloved gadget.

Use £5 gift vouchers, various available in the vouchers section, or if you got the Firebox catalogue a week or two ago, they've doubled the voucher value till midnight on the 19th (so for example, I had £3 vouchers which took £6 off my order today!)

I bought one for my walkman, much much cheaper than a ]mains charger direct from the manufacturer.... really should be supplied with the mp3 player in the first place!

Do they give you 10p back if you use a voucher on this one item?

Need one for my 360 wireless headset... might just continue using my iphone charger till they drop a little more in price.

saw it on poundland...

i picked up one of these for £2 on fleabay

great idea.

Good stuff... might get one after all... I thought £4.90 was still a little expensive.

bargain!

for firebox that is.

Sorry, had to vote cold since the Poundland ones are better value.

You're likely to find that it won't work with Walkmans. Sony has deliberately limited the charging capability of Walkmans to work only when connected to a computer or when connected to the charger peripheral it flogs to make an obvious easy buck. Swines.

Could you let us know where and what you bought and which Sony it charges - I have a Sony NWZA815(?) but haven't been able to find a mains USB charger for it.

i have the same model sony, was off ebay but a few months ago now so cant see the actual item sorry

Just to warnm you, I once had a smart phone that would only charge from the usb from a computer or the official usb chgarger - not a usb mains adapter. I think it needed the driver on the computer for it to connect and charge, though it was fine with its official charger.
Most of my stuff worked fine though so you will probably be fine.
Dave.

got mine today. works perfectly with my Sony NWZ-A828, in fact if anything, charges faster than it does on the computer

for something like this, would much rather pay a few quid more for a branded product from a known retailer so I can be sure its not gonna blow up my walkman!

I agree. I bought a cheap one off ebay a while back and it used to flatten the battery if you left it plugged in too long!
