Great price (I paid £30 return). I went a few years back in Dec and it was cold so take a hat and gloves. Being a man I thought I knew better, how wrong I was.

Very good price. However, anyone can comment on how Venice is in the middle of January?

Freezing cold apparently, not much sunshine or sunlight as it gets dark early. Possibly some snow and ice people say who have been there before in Jan. But a pro is that it is less busy, not as many tourists in this time of year.

Cheap flights for a very expensive place

Anyone know what time you would arrive in Venice?

Nice find - If i wasn't booked somewhere else for the 23rd I'd be in.

You can also do the 13th to the 20th for £19.98 btw

Myself and partner went 20th January last year. don't be fooled by people saying its cold, we made that mistake and packed for very cold weather, when intact it was a pretty constant 12-15C. It varied that we had a foggy day, a couple of blue sky days and one day of drizzle.

I honestly couldn't recommend going enough in January, it's much quieter and so much more enjoyable.

Great price..

You probably had some of the hottest days in history in Jan. The mean historic highs are 6-7.

Looking at Jan last year it was an amazing month.

No smell of sewers- happy days!

Just remember it's not Venice you are travelling to.... It's Treviso. Not saying it is worse (but it is), however, it is not Venice airport that others like EasyJet and Monarch fly to.

Easy to get from Treviso Airport to Venice.

Weather is poor in January however.

this is yet another very good find, there's some very strange folk on here!!. the post is for a cheap return flight, nowhere in the post can i see any mention of weather so maybe people should concentrate on the deal instead of looking for something else to moan about.
rant over.

Weathers irrelevant if you go prepared,I've been Amsterdam and Prague in winter both beautiful as I imagine Venice would be,this is an awesome deal, unless your gonna sit in your lounge all winter.

Forget Venice, park yourself in Treviso and take the train in. Stay Il Foccalaire in town centre,a ten Euro taxi ride from the airport.

thats all they do on here and have you noticed that almost always the first comments are really negative. I posted an item on here that i thought was reasonable price (£1 for an ice scraper that was a little bit better design than usual) as it was a good time of year to remind people that it was a good time to buy. i posted the offer and the heading changed and showed the delivery charge from SportsDirect.com of £3.99 but i was only quoting what i saw in the store so no need for postage. people here just want to moan and see no benefit in checking things out properly for themselves. Frankly i rarely bother to post anything now. just cannot be bothered with the BS.

As pointed out above, do be aware that Treviso is to Venice as Gatwick is to central London. However, the coach ride is straightforward and takes about 40 minutes.

When I went umpteen years ago they took us all off the plane on to a waiting bus. We couldn't see anywhere to go except a small building about 100 yards away. It took about 10 minutes to load the bus. And about 10 seconds to drive to the small building that was, inevitably, the terminal. There was laughter.

What the hell is wrong with ryanair? Have you ever actually flown them? You're on a website about saving money and complaining about cheap flights? Get a grip

Went in early Feb a few years back, also flew RyanAir into Treviso.

Ryan air is not pleasant but for <£30 i'd sit with the livestock for a 2 hour flight to italy! its cheap, its a deal , its hot (unlike Venice at this time of year)

We stayed on Lido which was pretty cool, the water taxis are regular but get a pass for the duration of your stay as its really the only mode of transport. Any romantic ideas of gondola ride will set you back a fair few quid.

Venice is a cool place but sadly is just for tourists, no one lives there anymore which means the off season is very quiet and there is very little nightlife.

It was BONE CHILLINGLY COLD! seriously... i felt a new kind of cold out there. the narrow alleyways and old stone really do get inside you so wrap up warm.

Go do it.. its cheap and its another must see off the list.

me too could not pay me to fly with them again after they made my 5 year old sit on her own next to a stranger because it was 1st come 1st serv and they charged me £120 extra for baggage even though on the way out the same weight was free ? awful awful airline

also venice is a overpriced dump

Went about 10 years ago, was absolutely terrible. It was packed solid full of people, overpriced, generally unenjoyable. But the price of the deal to go somewhere.

Venice in January is brilliant. I went in January a couple of years ago, we stayed on the Lido and bought a mutil day pass for the vaporetta. Each day meant a short trip across the water and a mini tour of Venice as the vaporetta stopped at each drop off point. Staying on the Lido meant cheaper places to eat in the evenings. No crowds, no hustle, all churches open (and free).

Excellent!

Did you know Treviso is 40km form Venice!

Venice is very like London.....very expensive if you want to eat and shop at The Ritz/Harrods, but I found it was really reasonable if you are prepared to walk for 5-10 minutes.

If you want a coffee in St Mark's Square you will pay silly amounts for the orchestra that is playing music to you. If you walk slightly out then the food is reasonable.

I found it just slightly more expensive than Rome, and cheaper than Florence on a 3 city holiday.

An ablsolute must is the 3 island boat trip to Murano/Burano/Torcello.

Yes. Bus or Taxi to train station and train into Venice. Takes 45min.

If staying in Venice it will probably take you longer to find/get to your hotel then that!

It takes 25min in a taxi and 30min on bus from Marco Polo anyway so not much in it TBH.

Anyone recommend a decent hotel?
Thinking of booking the trip on the 20th- 24th January!
Great deal.

Thanks

I went just before Christmas and it was amazing. This is a great deal although can't comment on Treviso as we flew into Marco Polo. Weather was dry and mild but everywhere was very quiet and it was so romantic and atmospheric with the most over the canals, I'd definitely recommend going this time of year. In terms of hotels, we stated at the Residence Palazzo Of one which was beautiful. Showing as £279 on hotels.com. Admittedly a B&B, not a hotel but there's plenty of places nearby if you want to grab something. Very close to the bus station and whilst a bit further from the centre of Venice, it's really not far. It's a beautiful city.

Mist over the canals, not most! And Palazzo Odoni, not Of one. Stupid predictive text!

Is marcon far from Venice?
