Ventura? Ace

Rigid suspension eh? Impressive.

Strange, same weight as my Specialized hybrid bike which is aluminium frame, shouldn't it be a fair bit lighter?

Yeah not the lightest carbon bike probably a crude mould set up, but the carbon will make the ride more comfortable and it should be stiffer even if a high modulus fibre isn't used

Not any form of expert, but, work with chaps who tell me most of the weight is in the quality of the gearing/chainsets etc

But this is with the wheels on! X)

Not sure what model you have but the Sirrus Comp weighs 10.54Kg.

It's a Sirrus Pro and with some extra bits on it weighs in at 9.4kgs.

On a road bike?

Just seen it has r500 wheels, I have these on my Cube peloton winter bike. Worth £100 from wiggle and are bullet proof

So not the same weight then (0.6kg is a lot in the cycling world) and cost considerably more and slower!

Unfortunately I'm too lazy to remove the various bottle holders, light fittings etc to find the real number...

I was just expressing my surprise that a road optimised carbon bike was only about 5% lighter than a more sturdily built aluminium bike. So it sounds like there is more variation in weight amongst different carbon road bikes than there is in going from aluminium to carbon.

Seems a very small bike," suitable for 24 to 29" inside leg measurement"

That would be true but the apparently shopping tip tube and the 58cm quoted size suggests this is a bike for giants!

I think I'd rather have a Triban 5a from decathlon. put the price difference towards fulcrum 7 wheels

or the Moser from wiggle for 488 pounds is a bargain at the minute

Looking for my first real road bike and had more or less decided on the Moser but tempted by this particularly with the 10% off through the mirror. Please don't take this the wrong way but sometimes we're all a bit 'snobish' about Argos

did anyone buy one in the end?

So I've just seen this bike for £349 in a argos clearance store the frame is to big for myself, shall I invest and re-sell or stay well clear?

Bought one last week and have had 4 punctures already. Have they skimped on the tyres or am I just unlucky? Tempted to replace them with puncture proofs.

Great bike I love it. Shame it's gone up again
