It’s £9 for 128GB. What do you actually expect? It’s obviously mass storage on the cheap, not for people to fill up all 128GB in one go and complain about how long it takes. Buy a SanDisk Extreme or Flair for 2-3x the price if you need speed.

Therefore you are better off waiting till MyMemory offer their drives for £9.99 as they sometimes do, at least they are USB3 and slightly faster.

Verbatim is a better brand, the design is better/nicer and MyMemory sticks are USB3 in name only - they’re not USB3 speed. So for most it’s a waste of an extra pound.

I think its a fair criticism , despite the price. 4mb is truely woeful and to most people would never assume performance could be that bad. I have a play.com 16gb drive that must be 10 years old, was the cheapest you could get, hit the £1 a gig mark i believe and even that drive does 14.5MB/s.

I don’t. You can pick any 2 of these 3 things when buying a flash drive: speed, value or capacity. I honestly don’t believe a cheap 16GB drive from 10 years ago can do 14.5MB/s. I have a Corsair Voyager GT from 7 years ago that isn’t much faster.

You’re buying this flash drive because it’s 128GB of branded storage for a pretty insignificant amount of money. You can also pay more for a faster drive.

I have this, also bought from Play more than 10 years ago possibly with similar speed, but what test did you use? PNY Attache Optima 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (not pre-order)
Mass Frustration and waste of time.

Erm, even from the same company, the usb 3.0 is £1 more, this is a no deal.

It’s not USB 3.0 in anything other than name, certainly not USB 3.0 speed. So it’s £1 more so you can brag about having a USB 3.0 stick that isn’t USB 3.0 speed - brilliant. If you want a super-fast USB drive, then expect to pay the price for one...

Post it as a deal then. Stop moaning about this one. Can’t see any USB3.0 128GB drives for £10 at Base.

How exactly is alerting people that they aren't spending their hard earned money wisely "moaning"?
So that is how you see things is it? Well okay.

Because it’s your opinion. We are all different. I think AirPods are a complete waste of time for what they cost, poor fit and £15 sound quality but plenty of people would disagree. How about you let that sink in for a bit? And you still haven’t actually provided a link to it on Base...

It's common sense!!!!

It's common sense!!!!

Not if the absolute value is provided by capacity and read/write speed isn’t relevant to that specific person. If I want a fast stick, I’ll buy one and pay more for it. If I don’t I’ll buy this. So, no, it isn’t common sense. Common sense dictates not spending money unnecessarily.
