I picked up the 250gb version of this a few months ago - very nice, lightweight, slimline drive - about the size of your hand. USB powered so no mains leads etc needed. Made me wonder why I even bothered with spending £10-£15 on pen/flash drives !
Hasn't let me down (yet!)

This deals a little better - £49.99 for a 500gb WD Elements portable Hard Drive.

This would be a good choice for someone looking to use with a MacBook Pro as similar colour.

I got the 250GB (or 320GB cant remember) version of this and have had to reformat a few times already.
My PC wouldn't even see it at one point.
Now it's ok for storage but not detected through Blu-Ray USB or XBOX360 so cant use it for movies anymore

Yeah i got the 250 gb one the last time from Asda and so far it's been spot on as long as i use my back usb ports as it won't power properly with the front ones. Contacted Verbatim and they sent me a Y-adaptor which has 2 usb leads going into a single power and the front usb problems solved. Alfreer did you reformat in FAT32 as i thought that was what the 360 needed the hard drive to be formatted in as it never used to be capable of detecting NTFS or has there been a 360 update which solved it?

Hi dalecheesy, mine is NTFS right now but has been formatted a few ways up to now LOL.
I'll give it a go with the rear USBs and if necessary, reformat in Fat32.
Do u know if the 360 has a max video file size? My Blu_ray is max 2GB file size.
Cheers

I've been looking for a cheap caddy for a 40gig drive I found in a drawer from way back. Any with good reviews seem to be around a tenner so this is a tempting choice if swapping the drives in and out is an easy job... AND doesn't void any warranty of course.

Don't forget Quidco. Yes, I know it's only 56 pence, but every little helps!

Swapping the drives? You planning to open this up? If u are you'll void its warranty and the screws seem to be glued under the 4 rubber feet, so should be obvious if its been opened.

Also this is a 2.5" drive just in case ur 40GB is not.

The maximum file size which it supports is 4 gig if i remember correctly probably down to the limitations of FAt32.
