Good price if you need a 500gb portable HD. Double the price of the 250gb at ASDA for double the storage capacity. And this is delivered to your door.

These cold voters must be keeping some bargains to themselves!

I am pretty sure i have seen this in Netto for £40

i'd rather have an iomega 500gb for the same price

]available here

Is it possible to take this apart and stick in a bigger/smaller hard disc?

I have one of each of the iomega (320gb) and the verbatim (250gb).
I must say the verbatim one is a much higher quality case and looks so much better than the iomega.

The iomega is about 2MB/s faster though - the verbatim is ~ 26MB/s and the Iomega ~28MB/s (according to HDTach). This isn't due to the disk but the enclosure - I have since swapped the hard drives in the 2 (both are very easy to open and contain sata drives). From memory the Verbatim was a Hitachi and the Iomega a Seagate (but it is possible they are the other way around - either way those are the two brands in these two enclosures).

Yep - its very easy. I have replaced my 250gb verbatim enclosure (otherwise identical) with a 320gb 2.5" sata disk and it works perfectly.

The case is a no screw design - you need to bend the plastic to open the enclosure (its held together by interlocking plastic tabs).

Hope that helps!

Cheers for the reply.... rep left.

Not expired - still available?!

It says "Stock - plenty" - so why the Expired state?

To report a wrongly expired item,
Go to the original post and hit the warning triangle,
ask the mods to un-expire.
I have just done so:thumbsup:

Thanks - I'm a little new so I didn't know
