Been looking around for a good deal on blank dvd's and have come across these. You can get the 50 pack for £7.49 via collect at store or delivered free online, as the instore price is a ridiculous £18.99!!! With PC World & Curry's you can reserve and pickup immediately rather than waiting for them to be delivered by Dixons.

The same deal is on at Curry's and Dixon's, as all 3 companies are part of the DSGi group.

Last time i saw these 50 packs at

They've been this price for a while now - but it's still a good deal.

I have looked online and couldn't see the 50 pack cheaper. They tend to be £9>

Just got a pack of 50 from Currys and burning a film as i speak. The packaging says 16X and the film is burning at 18X Wierd

yeah, i did this yesterday - couldn't believe the instore price! Actually all their prices instore seemed a bit ridiculous!

Wow, I just cleared the Bedford store out of it's entire stock of 1 pack

Dunno if I can be bothered to go there for 1 measly pack.

There's always a PC World and Currys next door to each other, so reserve a pack in each store, just incase one of the store don't have it even though you were able to reserve one. I say this because i went to the PC World i reserved at and they didn't have the packs in stock. So luckily i reserved a pack in the Currys next door and they had it.

Nah, the best one was the 3 pack of USB leads that were in HomeBargains for 99p. Suddenly, exactly the same ones popped up in PC World, slightly more expensive, at £44.99!

Could not remember if it is the DVD +R or DVD -R but one of them when I used to transfer some of our personal videos and photos would not open on ordinary DVD player. I took a copy abroad and it does not work as well,, could you tell me if it is the + or the -, thanks.

The 'minus' format is more compatible with older/newer dvd players...as far as im aware of

It sounds like you didn't make the disc properly, both should have worked.

Depends on the DVD player, DVD-R is generally the standard as far as I know, but most (or at least many) DVD players play both DVD+R and DVD-R, I haven't owned a DVD player that doesn't do both.

If you have a manual for your DVD player, or box, it will probably tell you. Small chance of it being printed on the front of the DVD player on the disc tray too I think.

HI, guys,,thanks to all your advise,,probably the problem is me....I'll just buy the - R and hope for the best,,thnks all!!

Nice one. Back in stock for free home delivery, saving me sitting in a stinking hot car in traffic. *thumbs up*.

DVD+R version is £9.28 .... gits!

and the currys link for the +R's

I think i'll order for home delivery, screw it i'll get the price difference back in saved fuel costs LOL

and i think it is the DVD+R's that were more ccompatible with stand alone DVD players, especially if you set the bookmark typ to DVD ROM in your software, this will make the disc appear to be a regular DVD that you buy
