MCC03 can be made in Taiwan, India or China. Indian/chinese are best avoided whilst the taiwan discs are quality.

Look near the barcode, it will have a bit that says "Made in Taiwan" or wherever.

id rather pay a bit extra and get taiyo yuden

I have used almost 50 of these 'rubbish' Indian-made discs and have not had one failure yet.

Surely that's not luck?

a whole 50? ;> hehe - go get dvdinfopro and do a pif scan and post the results.

Quality of discs comes down to more than a failure during recording (even the worst of the worst discs are fine when burning them.

Verbatim Made in Japan are Taiyo Yuden. MiI/T/C are MCC. Verb TY's aren't the best quality Taiyo Yudens though.

I bought a pack of 100 verbatim discs from Preston Sainsburys for £10!!!

They are selling 50 Verbatim cd-r's for £4.99

Which is also a very good deal.

Bought 50 verbatim dvd-r's today, from Sainsburys for £8. It was half price (from £16 obviously). Didn't see any 100 packs for £10 though, otherwise I would have bought them (unless you meant cdr's). These are made in Japan though, according to the label.

When I bought em they were £3.99 for 25 and £7.99 for 50?

sorry i meant 100 cdrs

I've never had any problems with the Indian ones. Have you had issues … I've never had any problems with the Indian ones. Have you had issues with them yourself?

If by issues you mean I've lost data, no because I wouldn't put anything on them. I've bought about 5 different batches to test/scan and seen how bad they can be.

I'm also very aware of Moser Baer India (the company Verbatim outsource production to) and their total lack of quality control over the past 12+ years.

MII verbs are supposed to be manufactured according to verbatims QC, but an hour or two spent testing shows this isn't the case and they are very variable.

It's all moot when you consider for the exact same price you can get taiwanese or japanese verbs which are far higher quality - why put up with such variable discs?

picked up some of these today they still had plenty 50s and 25 tubs

made in india verbatim AZO

media code MCC 03RG20

videohelp seems to list them as good

svp rate them at 8.1/10
