is that a very poor attempt at humour? :whistling:

No matter how you spell it hot hot hot!

I take it they are the printable ones? If so these are my favorite discs. That is a scorching price......HOT

Disgusting, how can they call themselves Poundstretchers when they charge 7 times that! :w00t:
( Hot from me even so ;-) )

Very hot. Will check mine tomorrow . . .
H&R added

Was there any DVD-R Verb`s, (the minus ones)

Genuine question, Whats the difference? I've never seen a player that plays one rather than the other

Usually buy DVD-R but these are Verbtatims and I've never had any trouble with +Rs on the few occasions I've used them.

There is a difference but not one that any equipment I've ever come across cares about.

Great Price though especially if they're printable.

You have to check the labels. Those might be the most common but I have seen Japan, Taiwan and India all in the orange/blue packets.

The Japan ones are TY dye. The Taiwan ones are pretty good. The India ones not so well thought of.

DvD-R: Write once, better for Video as widely accepted by home DvD players.

DvD+R: Write once BUT data can be added later (not RW, but still accessible). Better for data as most Computer DvD players can read it and you can fill half the disk, then add a quarter, and the complete it a year later (as an example).

Blue/purple with ridge in case 2 cm above base = TYG03 code +R's made in Japan - the best recordable DVD's available ( personally never had a failure with these discs which are the only ones I now buy .}

DVD+R bitset to DVD-ROM even better for Video as accepted by all Home DVD and computer DVD readers/players.

DVD-R ( that's dash r ) disks are the official standard. DVD+R ( plus R ) disks are a technically superior variant in a number of ways. For instance:

- The way data is written to plus Rs should ensure they have a longer life than dash Rs.
- When you create multiple sessions on a disk, dash Rs waste about 200MBs of space, plus Rs only about 2MB.
- As mentioned above, bitsetting enable the DVD writer to write to areas of a plus R disk that are untouchable on a dash R.

Most player nowadays will play both formats, although some Toshibas and Panasonics may not. I wouldn't touch dash Rs unless I had a specific need.

Poundstretcher had Made in Taiwan disks earlier this year. I bought three tubs of 50 plus Rs and two were excellent, with the other being rather average. Made in Japan Verbatims are Taiyo Yudens and should snapped up at the slightest opportunity.

damn, i thought the half price deal at maplin was good, but that comes out to £9.99 each. i wish i'd waited a week before getting 2 packs now, could've saved myself £6.

whats the current cheapest place you have found for TYG03 disks

So if I burn a DVD +R and use 200mb space. I can add 100mb data to it next day, 100mb the day after, etc until the DVD +R is full??? wow I didn't know that!!

I got a pack of 100 verbarim DVD-R from maplin for £15 some time back when they were selling it in offer... This is a great deal voted hot.

good deal if they have any....like most on here!!!

Excellent Price for excellent brand!

Are DVD+Rs ok for writing backup games? I remember reading somewhere that DVD-Rs were superior?

I just went to my local. They didn't have any DVD

Some XBOX drives can't read +R.

Mine for example won't read +R ...only -R but will read +RW.

OK, it's just that Bris said that you can only use Dual Layers on Xboxes and that's not true.

In fact, apart from being a complete waste of money, would a dual layer actually work in an Xbox?
