WWI first-person shooters Verdun and Tannenberg both received Xbox Series X|S upgrades yesterday that introduce higher resolutions, default 60fps with support for 120fps, increased detail, anti-aliasing, and improved shadows and textures. The upgrades were applied to Xbox Series X|S owners of the games for free. To celebrate the release of the Xbox Series X|S optimised editions, both titles will be running free play days between June 17th and 20th, including a 60% discount on the Xbox Store. Set in World War I, you’ll take part in trench warfare on the Western Front in Verdun and manoeuvre warfare between Germany and Russia in Tannenberg. The games have a focus on authentic first-person combat and squad play that throws us into the unimaginable chaos of “the war to end all wars.” In light of Verdun and Tannenberg closing in on two million copies sold, the third instalment of the franchise is releasing later this year. Titled Isonzo, we’ll be heading to the Alps for high-altitude warfare in Eastern Italy.
