Hi, found this bike reduced to £65 in Tesco online. At this price I think it is good deal for occasional cycling.

I agree, especially as it's an alloy frame.
But just wait till the bike snobs get here...:)

This one reduced as well, but lower spec.

I think you'll be surprised. This is a sensible cheap bike, it's not trying to be a suspension mountain bike.

Is this good bike?

Bought, just for the components to go on a 80's steel racer.

hot hot hot hot hot

Thanks!! Brill find

Chainset looks a bit crap, but the rest of the bike looks ace for the money. Ordered!

would this suit a 6"1 adult?

Great find. just ordered. Thank you

Looks like a pretty good deal - I'm tempted to buy it just for spare parts!
Reviewers have commented on things like poorly-adjusted brakes and wheels out of true, but this is par for the course with budget mail order - just needs you to take a bit of care and if you don't know what you're doing get someone to help (a 'proper' bike retailer would build the bike up then ship it with the bars turned and pedals removed). Wheels can be a problem, not because there's anything intrinsically wrong with them but because of poor spoke tensioning - it's worth getting a spoke key and checking them for tightness regularly.

The chainset is Shimano's bottom-of-the-range named groupset (brake levers/shifters/cranks/derailleur) but they do more basic cranks and derailleurs so it's not rock bottom - this is perfectly OK, and I've done thousands of miles on a budget tourer with Shimano 2300 kit, this being the previous generation at this quality level.

Would I be right in thinking this is going to be a little big for me? I'm 5' 10".

Couldn't say no at this price. Heat added, thank you!

Great find.

Ordered, thanks Op.

Perfect for chucking in the shed without worrying that someone is going to sneak in overnight and rip it off. Or if they do the most you can lose is £65.

I was looking for a bike an extra bike that me and my son could lock up in town without worrying.

£500 bikes maybe nice, but they have to be at your side at all times. This one will be locked up in town while I go shopping or outside the pub, without worry.

I'm 5.6, this should be ok for me? Also which is better? The one for £65?

Using this link, they suggest the bike is probably suitable for someone 5'5" to 5'9", with 5'7" at the optimum:

Claris on a bike for £65 is pretty damn good, I have not seen that before. However the shifters look like the older 2300 though.

cold
not shimano 105

Reviews suggest it is suitable for 10-13 year olds.

Do I need a bike? No. Ordered!!

...sorry we're late.

At £65 there's nothing to complain about here. If it fits your budget then go for it because I can't see anything else coming close at what is silly money for a bike. Just don't take handlebar setup tips from the pictures!

Note the frame size though - 21", so 5'9"-6' or so. I guess that it being Tesco you can easily return if it doesn't fit.

Hot.

Ordered. My Giant Defy 3 order regretfully failed to go through. Ill go for this instead, bicycle is a bicycle anyway. Why pay ridiculous amount.

I have a Carrera Subway - should I stick with that or will this be better?

Yeh. Usually you'll find me criticising the bikes etc on here. And I'll be no different here.
Decent groupset for what it is. Reliable and sweet. Just don't expect sweet and quick shifts. The weight however is appalling. I can't see you going up any hills on these. But, for the price اgood. I wouldn't recommend it though.

I can't believe it ! Actually got my greasy palms on a Tesco wild goose chase.
Don't know which is rarer this or stepping in Dodo poo.
Great find ( the bike )

The reviews are for rugs and mattresses....

The last time I bought a bike for this price it almost broke my legs, and sent my brother in law over the handle bars.

It's this price for a reason.

Good find though.

Not bad

Isn't the Piccadilly model at £60 the better option being aluminium? Same size.

This is a 21" frame. Can anyone tell me the ideal rider height for this?

So what would you recommend for £65?

I'm not gunna drop a grand to bike to work and back.
