If your budget only stretches to £120 then don't waste your money on a heavy lump like this with "lookalike" suspension. You can get a rigid bike that will be better in every single way for the money.

Could you send me a link to one please?

if your budget is 120 go on gumtree and get a hardtail. these bouncy bikes are awful, youre better off with no suspension at all

Certainly lighter (3.5kg) & no dodgy suspension but at these prices you will get poor quality gears, wheels, bearings etc

As suggested better to look for a second hand bike that may originally have been nearer the £300 mark

Anything under £400 with duel suspension is going to be a pile of crap unless you find an amazing deal grab a bike with front suspension only at least you may end up with a half decent bike anything like that in my opinion isn't worth spending the money on.

Forget suspension of any kind unless you are spending £300ish plus. Suspension should mean a coil or air spring and some form of damping system to slow its rebound. What you get at this price is an undamped coil spring with poor seals. When it is in working order it'll be a pogo stick, when it gets full of dirt it'll just seize in the compressed end of the travel. The 80-90 quid bikes you've linked to will have similar quality (ie not great) gears etc but at least you won't be carrying around 4kg of pointless springs and pivots.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, have you tried bike shops (Halfords even) rather than looking at supermarkets? I realise it's 100 quid more but the Saracen linked to on here recently was a genuinely nice bike reduced from 350 to 180.

Awful bike awful deal puke.

Heavy....don't look at Supermarkets for bikes.....they are not experts.....if they sell for £90 it probably cost £40 to build with a chunk for shipping & profit....so cheap components

You shouldn't really even look at a hardtail for under £200

Better than the others you have listed....good for a bit of greenlaning but not sure I would put it through anything too challenging but ideal for commuting & a few country lanes, bridleways

If only they spent £40. The bikes that sell for £99 cost Tesco $20 shipped per unit from China. So 12-15 quid.

im no bike expert but i got this tesco.com/dir…990 and its a great bike, lightweight aluminium frame ,it says 18kg but that's the boxed weight , weight is 14kg if i recall out of the box, 93 reviews and 4.2/5 stars so others must agree, made in Europe and all the parts seem to be branded as well

have a look in your area for Bike recycling. they do up old bikes and generally you get a bit more for money and cosidering a full bike servic is 50 quid it is well worth ir..
