Hi, I work for Maplin which means I get to have a little play with some of the new gadgets. I can safely say, that for £50, you won't find another drone that fly's this well.

Pros:
Auto take off
Auto land
Incredibly stable
720p camera for recording or photo
Looks like the expensive Mavic pro drones
Cool Xbox style controller that you can put your phone into.

Cons:
You need to buy an SD to back up the footage (as you'd expect).

Product code A98XU
There's also a cheaper one which we fly around the shop daily called a sky drone, also has a 720p camera, £24.99 (A96XU).

2842987.jpgNormally I wouldn't promote my own workplace, but these drones are fantastic and cheap!

cheeky question - as a maplin employee, do you have any idea when the DJI Spark combo's might go back to the £500 offer price it was before it went up? :P

I have no idea bud. Alot of them have been returned to the supplier, I think we ordered too many. The ones that are left in store aren't sealed. Most of the time they will reduce them if the item is deboxed for display. It's a drone, they should be sold with the seal in tact. Surely that's worth £100 off the asking price? It's entirely the managers discression. Worth an ask! Just be nice to the staff, no one likes an arsehole trying to get loads of money off they will be keen to sell the last few though!

Well I've just ordered the only one available at my local store, I'll have a look tomorrow and see what it's like before buying it

What's the spares situation liked for these too?

But, £5 back if I do buy it too

Thanks for the tip! I don't think I'd want to go for a deboxed one, but I'm sure it will help someone reading this

I FORGOT TO MENTION THE £5 VOUCHER!
Spend in store between 1st - 24th December.
Spend £5.01, only pay a penny!

Nothing wrong with a deboxed one. Opened by a Manager, bagged up safely and put in the warehouse. Just because it's an expensive item that can't be on the shelf. So they just put the box out instead. You will still get everything as normal. It's just been opened

I've just received a voicemail stating that the one I have ordered is actually an in store demo and that they'll reduce the price accordingly - I'll find out tomorrow when I pop in

Hi Jake, I've got a question. What happens if you've ordered and paid for an item (to collect in store) but you've changed your mind and don't collect it within the 7 days time limit? Do you automatically get refunded?
