understandable matey. but as a laptop and price....any comments?

Plenty of lappies for this price with similar specs around. Acer wouldn't be my first choice.

Never had a problem with Acer but, of course, usually you only hear from the people who have had problems and not from the majority who have not. Well-built laptops that will stand most forms of normal usage, but don't take kindly to being thrown against walls or run over by cars (what laptop would?).

I've had two acers and both have broke. The 2nd one the gfx went on it and needs a new mobo! 1st one god knows what happened to that

I've had an Acer 6920G now for for 3 years and no problems with it at all apart from the speed due to the s**t i had on there. Just restored it to factory settings and use it only for internet and games and it seems to be exactly back to how i had it at the beginning although i have to laugh when i pull the power cord out and the battery lasts about 6 minutes. I hear about the problems with Acer but maybe i just got lucky.

You can only speak as you find and I for one would never buy an Acer product again, simply poor quality.

I'm looking for a laptop for my son for Christmas, but want to get the best spec I can for around £350 pref with built in webcam. Would this be any good or would I be better of with a Dell?

Littlewoods and codes is always going to be cold from me.
As for the laptop itself I have 3 laptops here, Toshiba, Sony and Acer and the Acer is the poorest build quality HOWEVER it has never given me a days trouble and it is used every day.

only -155. im suprised!

I have an acer 8930G which cost me around £800-ish about a year back. It has a great build quality as you would expect from a laptop at that price mark. Unfortunately, it has been nothing but trouble. The fingerprint reader stopped working, followed by the wifi switch, bluetooth, Blu Ray drive and then finally the LCD. I assumed I had gotten a lemon but Acer's customer support is what really annoyed me. They are terrible, asking me to send the laptop in multiple times then taking three weeks or more to repair it and sending it back with the fault still not repaired, starting another cycle.

I was very tempted by their Timeline series but will never buy an Acer every again due to their absolutely useless customer support.

I have voted this deal hot for the price but I seriously suggest people to pay a slightly higher price for a better service in case something does go wrong. Ultimaely, I suppose you get what you pay for.
