I recognise that this isn't going to be a deal that suits everyone, but for those of us with a taste for such things it looks good to me.
Apparently 2008 was an exceptional year for the grape harvest, Veuve Clicquot declared this as a particularly good vintage, to drink now or lay down for up to 10 years.
I've had a look around, and the price I can find everywhere else for this is £49.50 plus, so £38 represents a deal at least. Veuve's standard Yellow Label is £39 at Tesco currently (that's my favourite champagne!).
Available in-store (but the store nearest to my office -a posh area- didn't have any stock, but I did get 2 bottles on Click-n-collect from a store nearer home - much less posh area )
As we have an 18th birthday in the family in the next 3 weeks, I've bought a bottle for that, and one to lay down for another occasion in the future.

I wonder why it's gone cold, but not going to fuss, Champagne is better that way
