VG-C2EM for A7II/A7SII/A7RII £215 (£135 after cashback) @ Bristol Cameras

As cheap as you'll find from anywhere, with a further £80 Sony cash back, taking down to £135.

eBuyer are also showing at £215, but they're not an authorised Sony retailer, so you won't get the cashback.

This is a vertical camera grip. It can also hold 2 batteries that afaik can be used to power the camera while in the grip.

Good deal if youre after them but surely shelf life expectancy is down now the mk3's are coming/here so expect further drops as retailers try to clear them

Sony don't discontinue their older models - just discount them. The A7/A7R/A7S are still for sale, and their VG-C1EM is still up at £180.

I picked up a A7II as a backup due to this price drop - £799 after cash back is too cheap to pass up on!

i meant accessories like this will want to be cleared from retailers shelves as less of those models will be sold although continue to be sold therefore less accessories will be purchased. They keep old models going to justify the price rises on the new models which goes against the grain with electronics as tech is supposed to come down as time goes on so new ones should be only slightly dearer (inflation and currency conversions adjusted) but for some reason Sony thinks they can charge any amount and people will still pay it. I've had every NEX camera since they started, including up to the a6000 and i started with Sony alpha 100 right through to the A77 via the A55. I'm currently on the A7ii but am getting increasingly annoyed at their obscene pricing policy now. They are charging higher and higher amounts pricing normal users out of the equation and focussing on Pros so much they're disillusioning the people that could get hooked at base level on their products and end up as Pros. Seems to be no forward thinking on customer retention. If i was starting out again now (i.e. had no lenses etc) i wouldn't buy into Sony purely for the money they're believing they can rob us of.

Just as a quick example:

I paid £1020 for the A7ii, £750 for the SEL70200G, £550 for the SEL55F18Z, £265 for the SEL28F20, £180 for the SEL2870, all about 2-3 years ago. Now the prices are scandalous for these products comparatively and ive had 3 years use of it too. Mental.

You did well with that then

@sparklehedgehog - that's the joys of Sony!

What I will say, when looking at my lenses, they're now only a 5-10% premium over Nikon & Canon - and I do believe the glass is worth the extra.

I also shoot with a A7II & A9 - that's a considerable saving in the body prices compared to either 1DX-II & 6D, or D5 & D610.

How do you do sony cashback?

Well there's the £200 cashback page ... sony.co.uk/pro…ack

And a seller on Ebay for £965.. ebay.co.uk/itm…rue
Suppose to get cashback might have to buy from a Dealership.
