I think the sensor in these is 1.3MP so does native 720p video and interpolates up to 1080p for video. All images above 1.3MP are interpolated too. These are basic cameras and personally I see the 16MP in the description as false advertising.

Always try to find a camera with a sensor of at least 4MP to give good results at 1080p. I personally would not recommend this camera and it does seem like Argos have a huge amount of stock of this to clear it keeps coming back time and time again as a clearance item.
I remember this being up on sale and it getting slated because the quality wasn't very good. I've never owned one myself so i couldn't comment.
I have done a couple of reviews on action cameras in the past so i'm slightly tempted to have a gamble on this to do a review and see what it's actually like.
I did a review on the Crosstour CT9000 action camera which does a really good job. I also reviewed a Bitmore camera which is around the same price as this Vibe one which once again isn't too bad for the price but nothing special.
If anybody wanted to see how those camera performed then you can check them out here:

That Crosstour camera looks to have a 4MP sensor and perhaps something like an allwinner V3 chipset. That provides a geniune 1080p image and should be significantly better than this Vibe camera. Looking at the image resolution on your video the smallest resolution is probably the sensor resolution and the others are interpolated upwards. The Crosstour should provide about 3x the detail of this Vibe camera for video and still images plus has the processing power for a higher frame rate, yours does 120 fps at 720p but this Vibe only does 30 fps. It would be interesting to see your views on the Vibe camera and I suspect you will return it. In terms of the bullsh_t factor the Crosstour is 4MP but claims 16MP (so 4x) and the Vibe I think is 1.3MP but claims 12MP so 9x the bullsh*t. When it comes to marketing honesty action cameras rank very low.
These work great for little kids that like to film everything because they want to be YouTube stars. My 7 year old films himself playing Minecraft. For the price, can't really complain. If you're even slightly serious then you'd but proper equipment.
Strange shape for a vibe 😳
