Victor 29cm Cast Iron Skillet for £12.99 @ T.K.Maxx

I joined the site a while back and am a relatively infrequent visitor, however as I have taken advantage of a couple of the deals posted by other members, I thought it only fair that I post at least one myself.

I'm in a similar position with Trip Advisor reviews, I read those of others, but haven't yet written one myself. Remedying that is on my to-do list too.

So... nothing ground breaking by any stretch, but I have been on the look out for a reasonably priced cast iron skillet. Those by reputable makes in the 11.5" size range normally come up at around the £28 - £30 mark, but I came across a 29cm Victor cast iron skillet for £12.99 at T.K.Maxx. I think the "55% off" is a fair claim given what they're selling for elsewhere.

I waited until I received the follow up "dispatched" email before posting this so that I was reasonably sure I wasn't highlighting something that was out of stock, but as I only placed my order yesterday, I can't yet claim to have seen one in the flesh.

Standard postage is an additional £3.99, but I didn't include this in the price as I suspect a number of you will be able to collect for free in the Midlands area. T.K.Maxx are trialing in store collection at Birmingham (Bullring), Birmingham (Castle Vale), Burton-On-Trent, Derby, Merry Hill, Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Tamworth, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Being in Lancashire this was no good for me, so I opted to purchase two extra as gifts for my family, along with the 24cm Victor cast iron grill pan, which is also a good price (tkmaxx.com/pot…146?VBMST=victor). This tipped the total just over the £50 needed to qualify for free delivery.

I've seen what these sell for on Ebay, and am confident I could have purchased all they have and made a profit, but if everyone did that, sites like this would be of limited value.

As I say, it is my first deal, so apologies if I've missed any vital information or misrepresented it in anyway.

Seems like a good price to me. I love my cast iron griddle for steaks.

Cast Iron just needs a little bit more TLC, but they are awesome to cook with.

Lovely description, heat from me

I got this one with the recent Groupon offer (£20 for £12) and its great.

Research how to season a cast iron pan before cooking and away you go!

Been looking for a Cast Iron Skillet for a while now. Good price!

worth giving a go if you dont have one for that price.
I got Staub Cast Iron Skillet & love it.

I think I paid a similar price for an aluminium one, it's just not the same. £13 for cast iron is very good.

I had to re-season my skillet but the method I used seem to work - I fired up the oven to warp 9 and left the skillet in there with a teaspoon of olive oil for about half an hour, then turned it off to cool on its own. Job done.

When I use it now I brush off any food residue and give it a light spray with oil from a tin and that's it.

Great tools and this is a great price.

Paid £9.99 around 6 months ago.
