Any one a tradesman on here and can tell me what the law is on these on the road? Need one for my professional life but am sceptical about getting pulled by the coppers
Sub 3" non-locking folding knife, totally legal. Some exceptions are airports and schools.

Anyone can still carry a knife non lockable under 3 inch blade with no reason.Still mad.You with a good reason can carry longer blades providing you can prove it's needed for job ect.

The Victorinox Manager I find the best one of this size.

This one's a variation on the standard/medium size; not a mini, like the Manager. Manager is a cracker, though. For mediums, I probably like the Compact best to carry in the pocket, but nothing comes close to the sadly discontinued Scientist.

Okay gotcha. My bad. Yeah I heard about Scientist before.
So given the 3" non lockable, does that mean that a fixed Stanley knife is legal but a folding one is not, as they all lock presumably to make them safer in use.

Late answer : neither are legal in general use, you'd need to be able to justify possession in public. One is a fixed blade. The other locking.
