Great knife !

I agree. Hot.
This is a great price and the best brand. Lifetime guarantee. I use my victorinox hiker everyday.
Good knife, but that is the normal price for it, I don't see the deal?

Almost perfect. Hook us less useful imho than a Philips head screwdriver but hey ho good price. We've all got our favourite v knives. Mines the alox pioneer.
To anyone thinking of buying the Victorinox Huntsman knife, to save time and money, upon delivery of the item, simply place it immediately in a drawer in the spare bedroom and leave it unused. When you inevitably clear the house after undergoing a painful and protracted divorce process, you can then sell it on via 'as new' condition on ebay to a pimpled schoolboy from Croydon for a much higher price than you would otherwise.
preppers say its the best value of the lot and will be in my berghous rucksack to be used daily now i have lost my gerber suspension il miss the needlenose pliers tho

No it isn't it averages around £23.00 for this model.

If you go on to a lot of outdoor sites and Bushcraft type forums the Huntsman always gets touted as the best overall outdoor persons knife. It is a classic and this price is much lower than normal. The basic Spartan is always being discounted but this model rarely seems to.

Good toy for occasional light use or to show off, but there's really nothing you can't do better with a good straight blade craft knife. Mora Companion or Hultafors Craftsman or the like. Both of which are available for about half the price of this.
standard mora and bahco laplander are the ultimate cheap combo can do most things.this knife be handy enough though for civil duties
I paid £14.30 for this in Feb 2014 from Amazon. not a great price but a great knife.

Mora knives are extremely good value i agree but this is obviously a different animal, carry one of those bushcraft trend setters down any high street, see how far you get. A decent swiss army knife should be everyone's edc.

Utterly ludicrous response. I would not matter if those knives were hand made by elves and only cost a penny each they are totally illegal to carry about with you on a day to day basis and even if they were they are hardly the same thing as a multi use pocket knife are they?

There's really no need to carry a knife with you everywhere you go, but if you do want to get into outdoors stuff and crafting then your money would be much better spent on one of those.

But they are completely different tools. Many outdoors people (and day to day people) carry a Victorinox Huntsman or a Farmer in the back pocket for general duty work. These knives are meant to be with you at all times. I have a Vic Climber in my pocket now and I am sat indoors tapping away on my PC. When I go camping it or my Huntsman will also be in my pocket. If I am intending to do any shelter building or fire making I will take my Laplander and Mora HD out with me but will still have the pocket knife with me. They are always with you items. Mora's are tools for certain situations. They are not like for like items.

And just how often do you actually use your Swiss army knife? If they're not much good in the wild, and if you already have easy access to scissors or a letter opener or a bottle opener or a corkscrew at home, when exactly are they useful?

It's rare I go a day without using mine. Today I pulled out a stuck sim card with the tooth pick from mine and yesterday I opened a parcel. Christmas day it was used to open loads of the kids toys from blister packs. It does not matter if I am out and about or at home. It is with me and ready when needed. Even my mother who is in her 70's would not be without her small key ring sized Victorinox.
