Not a outdoorsman as they try to advertise to but like the idea of a small tool that can do a lot that I can keep close.

Swiss Army knives are definitely not just for outdoorsmen. Many versions are actually more suitable for an urban environment. Have a look at the different models and choose one that you think will give you the most benefit, weighing up cost, size and weight.

I personally carry a keyring sized (58mm) version on my keys every day and I find it extremely useful.
I must have an older Huntsman model as it doesn't have the hook on it.

If I ever need to aerial slide down a cable car line to escape a Bond villain, I'll be most annoyed.

Other than that, it's really useful for opening parcels etc at work. Always have one with me since I watched Macgyver as a kid.

There's a person who's been continuously insisting legal knives are illegal lately. They are definitely a troll.
Like I said... There's always one....

Some are illegal like some of those leathermans. But this one is legal.

However, some airports will nick them off you.

I understand UK knife legislation. Obviously airports are a special case, as are licensed premises and entertainment/sport venues.

Even "illegal" is an exaggeration as it's only an issue if you wander around with it for no good reason. You're allowed to keep a machete at home and walk around with a Bowie knife in your pocket if you need it for work.

Good point. I should've address the concept of an "illegal knife". There is a small subsection of knives that are actually illegal to own/carry. Most are either legal to carry for no reason, or legal to carry with good reason.

Can't get better than a Swiss army knife.
Thanks
Are these legal in the U.K.

Aye lol. Dunno if they're just dumb, ill informed or a troll, or something else but I've reported their spreading of false information.

I have this Victorinox is silver tech. It's a good size and balance of tools.
Went for it for the scissors and saw.
Bottle of wine, baguette and some cheese and tomato and this knife will sort you out.
Actually did that in a courtyard in paris with a cheapo knife.
Buying lunch in Paris is expensive, while quality French staples (bread, cheese and wine) aren't.
Didn't have a saw on that, but imagine that's handy for bread.

Good everyday carry this.
