Victorinox Swiss Army Knife via House Of Switzerland

Found 24th Jul 2012
Victorinox are offering free personalised Swiss Army Knives as part of their sponsorship of the Swiss Olympic hospitality centre. You can get the knives here victorinoxlondon.com and find out more about the Swiss 'Red Zone' here houseofswitzerland.org/en.

Once you've created your knife from the available stencils, you then have to pick your knife up in person from the New Bond Street branch - this can only be done on 24/07/2012 or 13/08/2012 so unfortunately the this is only for Londoners or people in town on these two days.

The knives are available in red, blue, yellow or black, but availability is limited. I'm picking my knife up later today so will report back with pictures.

They can be got in red, blue, yellow or black - however there are limited numbers of each colour so you may only be able to get what's left.

Ok thanks

Oh rubbish, miss understood it, thinking it was between those dates, not just those dates. Hot if you are about on those two days.

In London today, ordered one going at lunch to pick up. heat added and thanks

Erm sorry if this is a stupid question, but is the knife free too, or can it just be personalised for free (i.e. you pay for the knife but don't have to pay any extra to personalise it), thanks.

Not a stupid question at all - the Swiss Red Zone is next to where I work so I went to ask someone yesterday (because I wasn't too sure either). The knife is totally free, as is the personalisation. I'm heading over to Bond Street at around 2pm so can definitively confirm then, but to the best of my knowledge it's a totally free penknife to help promote the Swiss Olympic team.

Submitted my design but no email as yet. Has anyone got confirmation or do you just turn up?

You should get an email with an ID in the subject line (e.g. Your personalised Swiss Army Knife - ID hz1o3ob43048616644). You can then review (but not change) your design by appending the ID number to the end of Victorinox London website (e.g. http://www.victorinoxlondon.com/hz1o3ob43048616644). That's not my final design by the way - I was just playing around!

Ah yes, apologies it was in Junk. I can't review as yet but maybe it takes a while to process. Hopefully get down at lunch to pick-up

Can someone else pick it up for me?

I don't see why not - as long as they have your email address (which I assume they check) and the knife ID then you're probably OK. Can't guarantee that though!

Going up to waterloo in half an hour, I'll pop to bond street after

Just spent 30 minutes in there.. upshot is if you have done your design today they won't get it. All slots for toady are full and you will be asked to go back tomorrow (if possible) as they can only do around 40 knives a day.

They are posting mine out to me as I'm only in London today and the choice of knife colour is done in store.

Awesome!

I see they don't print it as it comes in by email they only print it once your in the store?

they look up your design and in theory do it there and then. They squeezed me in only to find they didn't have the design yet

Its a great idea as it stops people printing a hundred or multiple collections and also no shows (Swiss are so practical when it comes to these things), but I can see a large demand of people heading to the store over the next few days, might go next week instead. Hope its not limited stock and they will honour the email. But still for free incredible.

Ordered one too, thanks OP

That's far from ideal - apologies folks. They had a constant flow of people at the Victorinox stall yesterday personalising knives so I'm really surprised that they're so under prepared.

Nothing to apologise for, it's a great find and a knife should be delivered in a week so I'm happy

They just asked for my email address, but I had a print out which they seem relieved about

Just phoned them, you have to go into the store, they will do the knife while you are waiting or they will send it out to you by post.

Hope this helps

Cool, thanks, just ordered.

I'm in London on the 12th August

I can't find a number to call them, did they mention anything about having to go in today itself before they can reschedule it to tomorrow, as mentioned by some others? Or do we just pop in tomorrow?

I created the design.

So I have to be in town on these two days only? 24/07/2012 or 13/08/2012?

Or can it be in-between?

I've had a reply from Victorinox via Twitter who say that "due to popularity of this offer we are now offering the chance to collect your knife in store tomorrow". twitter.com/Vic…288

UPDATE: That tweet was swiftly followed by "to clarify, the claiming of the knives must be done either today or 13th august with additional pick up tomorrow". twitter.com/Vic…441. So looks like you still have to get there today, but that you can pick up tomorrow.

Thanks

Ordered, as on holiday so will be in London.

Went in at lunch. The knives look pretty sweet. Getting mine posted to me

Same as woobee, I went into store earlier about 1215 had to wait a bit in a queue around the knives table lol. They must have underestimated… anyways they will be posting mine too. Fingers crossed.

you get a choice of either etching alone or with chalk which gives it a white dusting inside the etching marks, if that makes sense. There was blue, black, red and not-sure-about yellow. Good luck guys!
