I have two acorns similar to this one.

You could buy a sd card to micro sd slot cable to view on your tablet.
There's a layby 200 yds from my house, fly tippers paradise. Can I use it for that?

We have one. We plug it in to iPhone or iPad to upload. We get a bit of wildlife in the garden so nice to see what’s happening. Don’t think it lets me upload a clip in the comment?
Checked out some of the photos on Amazon posted by users, some great shots of local wildlife, 🦔🦡🦊🐀 pretty cool.

Wouldn't that make you a digital dirty dogger
I have one. Good for wildlife in garden. Not sure it would pickup car reg details. Doesn't work through glass.
How do you view the recorded footage? Do you have to get the SD card out and plug in to computer, or is there a wireless/Bluetooth way to do it that I’m missing?
reckon the borg will be looking for this

When you open it there is an lcd screen inside for playback. Or connect via USB to pc or take sd card out and use on pc.
How sensitive is the pir sensor? If I placed next to the bird feeder would it take a shot of small birds (tits, sparrows)?
Also the feeder is on the young tree, would it cause the problem if small branches swoosh in front of the camera?
thanks
Thanks bought as a gift. He has an iPad. Do I need anything else to make it work thanks.

My friend is asking for the location details!
They've been cheaper (£30) recently.

I've been needing something like this for a while, so I've been doing some research on them. I went for the much more expensive (it wasn't my money) SpyPoint cameras as they're much better for security (which was my main need).

The cheaper ones like this are a bit hit and miss, but for £30 it's not too much of a gamble.
If you want to access wirelessly, you can also get SD cards with wifi capabilities (for example the Toshiba Flashair range) - they allow you to connect and read the SD card via direct WIFI.
How long does the battery last before recharging
After two years of owning a CanCam I have never used but cost £100, I finally listed it on eBay last night then this offer comes along.... will be lucky to get £20 for it.
Looks like something the predator would mount on its shoulder.

I tested it and it picked up a Robin and a mouse. Takes video and snapshots
Been using this for some time as a security camera. Works quite well for the price. Lasts about 3 months on IKEA rechargeable batteries.

Thanks for posting. We have added your thread to the Highlights section
Living in London I might get one to catch on camera any scumbags who try get in my garden. And foxes of course.
* Can also be installed in local dogging car parks

these types of cameras are awesome. we had similar - unfortunately they arent as robust as they make out. after a winter being outside there was lots of water ingress.

we live in a town, but picked up hedghogs (good reason to make sure your fences are hedgehog friendly by making a hole at bottom), foxes, lots of cats and birds but one day we also had a pheasant which was a big surprise!
heat from me
I returned the 12mp version of this back due to poor picture quality. Hopefully this 16mp version is better.
Not meant as a judgement on the above post but I think reading the reviews there are some people who expect to get cracking colour shots of night time wildlife. You can get a lot of enjoyment seeing the garden animals, but the camera has many limitations. Fixed focus, random image taking when it detects something built in a cheaply Chinese factory. Night time will be black and white a have that infra red look. Too close burnt out hot spot look, too far and too dark. So long as you know what your buying it's great to see what came through your garden. There is a better version although the reviews don't overwhelmingly say everything is better about it. Think it's a great gift.

Only what's saved, it wouldn't be able to simultaneously write to the card and read from it.

To plug it into iPhone or iPad I use the official Apple adaptor.

I’ve had it a few years now and when I was looking it was recommended to get official apple one. Not sure if there’s anything out there now that’s the equivalent, sorry.
