Now's the time to buy one.

Makes any rubbish quality beef taste delicious...

Just add beef, carrots, beef stock, herbs and a can of ale before work and voila, delicious by the time you come home. This is hot.

I bought a 6.5L one a couple months ago. I haven't opened it yet as I can't cook lol. If anyone has some awesome vegetarian recipes that suit this style of cooking then I'm listening. Apparently if you can cook, women literally kick your door in and jump on you, so make the recipes cheap as I'm factoring in replacing my front door. This is why I got a 6.5L so I can feed the frenzy.

Is that bad? They won't be kicking the door down then? Russell Brand is vegetarian, I think he'd be lethal with a slow cooker, that might be his secret.

Seems like you get 5% Quidco as well! Great find!

mmm I was looking at it put thought something must have been bad about it as it wasn't posted on here.
For £10 delivered it seems like a no brainier. I mean if I only use if for chili, stews and odd soup this winter it will be worth it.
Might have to get two as the meat eaters in the house nicked the last one for slow cooking meat.
tcb/quidco still works with the orange thursday right?

Great item, thanks OP

Theres a facebook group called Slow Cooker Saddos if you're after recipes

Good deal. This may be a good companion - 365 soup recipes for £4 from Amazon (can be done in a slow cooker).

Never used one of these before, was put off because I wasn't sure how efficient they would be. Quick google suggests quite efficient.

Tempted now, idea of doing a curry in it sounds good!

Thanks xmas pressie sorted

Thanks ordered, these are good

I'm looking for slowcookersawesomeblokes, not for any gay relations just for cooking ideas for the ladies, failing that I have a great recipe that I use without fail everyday which is porridge oats in a bowl, some vanilla essence and 50 seconds in the microwave, I haven't tried the slow cooker but I didn't want to wait until the evening to eat my breakfast.

delivery to northern ireland costs £9.99 - not worth it in my opinion!

What's with their rrp?

They had this on offer a couple of months ago @ £15.99 with an rrp of £29.99!

No, but I did see a vicar trip over when he walked past, so the effect was there. What it was missing was a nice long brew in a slow cooker, once I get my body armour from Ebay I'll be all over that slow cooker, like ladies all over me once I flick the power.

Does anyone know how cost efficient it is? Just thought I'd ask in these hard times.......;)

great for stews, have just ordered as left my old one with the mrs

Living alone I have to be conscious of bills etc, does anyone know if this is more cost effective than using a n oven for a few hours?

Can't find the full specs, but most are around the 100w to 200w range, so about 1/20 to 1/10 of an electric oven.
At 16p/kwh your looking at 16p to 32p for a 10 hour cook. Given most recipes are for 8 hours or less (working day) your looking at ~25p per meal tops.

It wants me to pay £11.50 for delivery!! What am I doing wrong??

Based on a 200w it will consume 1kw on low for 8 hours compared to an oven on medium will consume 3 kW an hour. Buy it. You won't regret It and it will save you money.

Thanks very much,
I've gone and ordered me one of these :-) Been looking for an upgrade form our heater plate & pan combo fro a while Hi5

Ordered heat added
