Lowlife cable TV operator Max Renn discovers a "snuff TV" broadcast called Videodrome which is much more than it seems.

It's an experiment that causes brain damage. Max is caught in the middle of the forces that created and the forces that want to control Videodrome, his body itself turning into the ultimate weapon to fight them.

Directed by David Cronenberg.

If you haven't seen this, see it its a classic,.
I watched this in the 80's and it blew me away,i've got the criterion version on dvd for the uber fans. But at this price its great price to check it out, amazing effects way before cgi too and still looks great:thumbsup:

It does not look like you understood what he said. The special effects were miles ahead of its time when it was made. He is not comparing it to nowadays. Great film with a unique idea and not like the thousands of films made these days all with American teenagers getting slashed on a trip. BTW. Are there any teenagers/college kids left in America after the amount that got hacked in all the films. :-D

I'm an effects artist believe me when i say the effects in this film are brilliant fx by rick baker (he's a genius and revered by fx artists including the cgi guys) and assistant steve johnson, look em up pal and eat me my words in a humble pie.
Come talk to me when you know what your talking about spurs1.

IMHO the fx were so good that watching this all those years ago still lives with me to this day.
I may well be a lightweight but I honestly dont know if I could watch it again - the telephone episode still makes me shudder when I think of it!

I know it was not being compared to todays effects,he also said they still look great which is what i was responding to.you are the one who is mistaken.

This has debbie harry's lips in it. Its SUPERNOVA hot.

Top film.

So i guess that The Thing fx don't look good because it was made in the 80's too.
By the way the guy who did videodrome has won about 5 oscars so far.
These guys are true artist like michaelangelo creative, highly imaginative and technical and dont rely on a computer to do 90% of the work.

the thing is a fantastic film.the effects still hold up.so we agree on something.

i am not very keen on pies.i am entitled to my opinion.did he win an oscar for videodrome.
