Spotted these in the MK store, and looks quite a stylish and decent DVD player considering the price, which is even cheaper than the 'Value' DVD players, plus it also gets great reviews...
Average customer rating: 4.8 / 5 (20 Reviews)

Asda now seems flooded with Polaroid branded consumer electronics, so I assume it's being discontinued in favour of the Polaroid version, which is the exact same model, but more expensive at a few coppers under £20, so this is obviously quite a bargain!

Obviously stock availability will vary between stores, but worth looking out for next time your in.

BTW also found a Multi Region Code for you...

Open the disc tray, press set up, keep pressing vol + and vol - until a little 2 comes up in the top right corner. Use the directional buttons until it says 255. It should now be multi region.

I haven't purchased this player, got enough already so can't confirm if it works, but found this on AV Forums, and thought a nice little bonus if it does!

a good standard dvd player, good value for a tenner. You can unlock dvd as mentioned and it works perfectly.

As I said, I spotted these in the MK (Milton Keynes) store, but was told nationwide subject to availability as it's a clearance price, so would think that any of the large Asda stores which have TV's etc should have some, good luck!

Confirmed they have these in Asda Folkestone, 4 left on the shelf today
Edmonton store too.. probably 50 in there.. didn't buy, as don't need one. Posting in case some one fined it useful.

Scart only.

coatbridge had them in too...heat added
does it have hdmi?, i got a cheapo one from sainsbury's, but was a bit miffed not to find a hdmi socket on it.

It's Scart only, although TBH HDMI would be rather pointless on a budget DVD player as it isn't really going to add anything in terms of noticable picture quality as cheap players do not offer upscaling, so just buy a decent Scart cable.Actually you can probably still find the excellent Belkin Pure Scart cables in the 99p shop, very good.
Just got one of these today and the multi-region code works.

One problem though, I can't get the dvd to change from 4:3 to 16:9 even though 16:9 has been selected in the dvd players setup menu? Anyone else purchase this and have this problem or found a solution?

Heat for the poster though.

Hi, thanks for the heat! I'm sure you've probably sorted this out by now, but if not just wondering if your TV is like mine, which allows different screen, picture & sounds settings for each input, eg Scart, HDMI etc, might be worth checking as of course you may not have used Scart on your TV before only HDMI.The other thing is the disc itself, as depending on the age of the film not all are in Widescreen format, I've even got some which are dual sided with 2 versions of the film, one is Full Frame 4:3, or flip it over for Widescreen.
brilliant thank you
