Is going up the shard worth it?

No idea , i stood at the bottom of it at the weekend for free .Not sure how the experience compares but i was impressed.
I didn't go up the shard but saw it from the Sky Garden - free entry if you book in advance, and you don't have to sit down for a meal.

Please note that the meal is not in a Shard restaurant. It is some way from the building itself !!

Crafty fuqua's. Very well worded to make you think the restaurant is in The Shard
You can also go half way up the shard for nothing - just pop to aqua shard and have a beer only £6.50 with a drink that way 🥃

Nope. Clinically clean, all geared around selling you more. Sky garden is free and has a much better atmosphere

If you like views of London and the sky is clear then 'yes'. If you don't like views of London and there is fog then 'no'. Hope this helps.

Yes! We went last week and we were there for ages, has to be a clear day though, people working there are very helpful and frie
nice
Don't know that restuarant, but if you go to MPW's in the Cube they charge you and extra £5 per person to sit by the window and the way the tables are arranged one of the pair will have their back to the window.

Also many of these deals end upi costing you at least half as much again - some are value but not as cheap as you think

Totally agree I went up at night on a really clear frosty evening It was cold especially in the open bit but fantastic views of Tower Bridge and St Pauls.
Cold for me - what is the point of going there for the view/experience when the "restaurant" has the menu of any generic Italian?
Even if you enjoy the view the "food" will be a disappointment. Really café food for Valentines? Your other half deserves better.
We took advantage of a similar deal last year. The MPW restaurant food was almost inedible, restaurant was a mess and the day was cloudy so no view - there was no option to rearrange if the weather is against you.

We were probably unlucky with the restaurant. Still a good deal if you’ve been wanting to go up the Shard, but don’t expect a top class meal afterwards, it’s fast food served badly at best.
If you go up the Shard make sure you visit the toilets, you will never have a better view as you poop.
thanks OP
just booked with 15% cashback TCB + 15% discount code (listed on TCB), making it £75.65 + cashback

Maybe some people are constrained due to work / childcare restrictions and would like to pick a day out of said week to do something special for their other half , these people are the one's that will be getting some special **** time and not spreading their misery on the internet.

Err - I think I could work that out. Just tired of all these commercial 'celebrations' joining together these days. They'll be overlapping soon (stock in shops already does). Cheer up mate!
I don't think this is a good offer at all - in fact I think it's a pretty typical example of 'rook those coming to London, they won't realise it'. Why on earth would you pay whatever it is £12, £13 - to go up the Shard, when you can just apply in advance for a ticket and go to the far superior Sky Garden for free? As for Marco Pierre White's New York restaurant, granted his food is good, but if you look at the restaurant website you can get a 3-course lunch there for £12.95. Now, by my reckoning, if you book the restaurant yourself and book the Sky Garden yourself, the total cost is only £25.90! As opposed to giving Wowcher £89!
