Really tempted to buy this one and use it as a PC monitor and a TV...

And wont it simply be wonderful if it were under 350, my budget

Bear in mind this is TN Panel and not the superior S-PVA Panels which the Dell 24" 2408 display uses which is £344 on OCUK.

True... but then, this is a Viewsonic, is a 28-incher and comes wtih a 3 yr warranty.

The next big screen size is 30-inch and that's more than double the price...

Dell 2707 27" is PVA superior panel too and is £534...

The dell comes with a three or four year warrenty doesn't it?

28" is the same 1920x1200 resolution as 24" so you're not getting any more desktop space but everything will be scaled up so if you find 24" too small this one should be easier to read - although of course everything else will be lower quality.

...but you won't notice

If it was more than 1920X1200 i could be tempted.

Cheapest option for me at the moment is two 22" side by side which gives more desktop than 1920X1200.

Won't notice what?

I would recommend looking at a store with these kind of displays before buying as well.

Dot pitch on anything bigger than 24" is noticeable.

I got one of these the other day - I am extremely happy with it. It is a fantastic monitor. Games are completely immersive and browsing the net is a pleasure. You will need a decent graphics card, however, if you want to run this on 1920x1240 resolution. (Suggest nvidia 7 series upwards).

People talk about it being a TN panel, but really, it is fine - yes, if you sit on the floor directly beneath the monitor and look up, the picture fades, but who does that?! I use it as a TV and as a gaming monitor and I simply couldn't be happier. It is amazing!
