Too big for 1080p imo the ideal would be 1440p.

Looks like it's Matte too which is good. One thing I will say as a monitor sitting this close a 2k screen would be best at this size as you will see the pixels

Yes, although volume control might be fiddly.

?
I bought the 1440p one of these for about the same price about 6 months ago. From CCL as I recall. So this price is ok, but not super hot glue a 1080
Buy 4k . This is not a TV where they do not make 4k TVs at this size . Can use 4k monitor as 4k TV as well .
Sorry op, cold. 1080p for a PC at 32" is just a no go for the majority of uses. As said about, the AOC 32" 1440p monitor is usually around this price and a much better buy.

"Entertainment Monitor"?

Shove a fire stick in it, or a console, or STB. As it's 32" at only 1080p they're careful to point out it's not for pc use.

Fair enough, it clearly states monitor so that's what most people are going to assume

But agree, if you basically want to use this as a TV, it would be a good buy.

Ah but a monitor is just a monitor.
All screens used on pc's are monitors , not all monitors are used on pc's. (pc monitor, cctv monitor, lab monitor etc etc) a monitor is just a screen attached to a piece of tech and the resolution etc all geared to *what* you're connecting to it.

Most 4k monitors do not cost £150, nor do they have speakers.
1080p like this for a bedroom to play a console on whilst using a headset is fine. Though I do agree with other posters that the AOC 32” 1440p is a far better buy. Though it doesn’t have VESA, not sure if this does.

not really fair to compare that model being non IPS, the AOC IPS Quad HD version is £196.

But its 1080p so this will still have superior image quality. Cheaper monitors like this tend to run budget IPS panels.
Using a cheap VA screen either on a laptop or as a stand alone monitor it's not the most the pleasant viewing experience. This is as been pointed is IPS albeit at just full HD and should be adequate for most users even at 32 inches.

that is not guaranteed, in fact if it is being used to upscale a 1080p signal it is highly likely the picture on the quad HD non IPS panel will be much worse.
As has been pointed out for a bedroom monitor for a teen this is ideal and most teens on xboxs will not notice the difference but IPS generally tends to be easier on eyesight..
It was 11p cheaper when I bought it on 15th Nov . But seriously, I wouldn't use it as a PC monitor. It was fine for the PS4 gaming rig I was building for my nine year old nephew as an xmas present.

The speakers are terrible and there's no easy way to control the volume anyway. I rigged up an old mini amp and speakers.
The screen is quite reflective so you wouldn't want it facing a window. The picture quality is quite good though with it being an IPS panel.

My 8 year old lad uses a 1080 40" TV as a PC monitor for gaming. He's never complained so far. 32" sounds fine to me for gaming.
This got a fair amount of heat

Would this monitor be suitable as a tv replacement? Watching mainly sd content.

Should be fine but you will need an external source as it has no TV tuner, so you might be better of with a dedicated TV.

Thanks for the reply! We have an Intel stick and an older Intel NUC that we currently use on a standard 1080 Samsung tv. As long as the picture is at least as good.
