You can stay in Bristol on a Friday in August for £39 when I looked just now. That's a massive bargain for Bristol in the summer hols on a Friday night.

Lol, I was obviously making the point that it's not just Sunday nights in September that are great value, there are lots of great deals at peak times to be had. Granted it may not be what you're looking for, but if you're flexible then this is a great deal.

It’s still not 29.75 a room it never is it’s just a wild goose chase you. Ion the room when they want you if you book on the dates you wanted to stay they will screw you some times it’s nice though
Make sure to check out customer reviews of the specific Village hotel before you book. Some are outdated and in really old buildings, very poorly maintained rooms, others in newer buildings are alot better. This advice might apply for all hotel chains, but Village is the one where I've experienced the most discrepancies. Unfortunately they're one of those hotel chains where they tend to be very tight on the basics at times, like if you use two towels they'll only replace one the next day, they'll keep the soap stuff at the lowest possible levels and might not even top up when finished, etc etc.

I really like Village Hotels but the offers aren't always as transpararent as they could be. My favourites are Edinburgh, Leeds South, Ashton and Swansea but quality and services varies enormously.

Trying Nottingham next week on a similar offer.

Just looked at Portsmouth for 4th to 6th July - £1649! Bargain

They used to let you add cheap breakfast as well. Is that still on?
Looking at the Bournemouth one for August - anyone stayed at it and can you get any public transport into Bournemouth etc?
Stayed at Hull one in February and it was really good, nice and clean.
Thanks
Stayed at hull,Leeds and Newcastle no complaints all really nice hotels. Leeds was having work done to it but didn't affect the stay
Tried Bournemouth, as expected it's all over £100 in August - que sera

All parties voted for it, but don't let that get in the way of an anti SNP cry.

Is Bournemouth one nice? And is it close to anything - walking distance?
The Bournemouth Village hotel is opposite Bournemouth hospital. Not really close to anything walking wise (Tesco and leisure centre are about it) but good bus links outside the hospital. I haven’t stayed there (just work at the hospital!).

It's a bit out from Bournemouth. Definetly worth taking the car if you can, I think there are bus stops nearby as there is a big hospital right opposite.
It's definitely not within walking distance of Bournemouth.

It's about that price for other chains right? I mean, Friday night is a cheap night - only Sunday is cheaper. Even in August, Bristol Premier Inns and Travelodges are hover around the £30-£35 mark.

I think you'll find that's standard at most hotels?. They allocate x number of rooms at the promotional rates, once they're gone everything is standard rate..
