Not something I would expect in a national hotel chain.
Just stayed at the Bournemouth one. Fantastic as always. Breakfast was great!!
Oh I was thinking of the Glasgow one for Xmas and Boxin day as an escape... chiling in spa while everyone stresses elsewhere... now im not so sure!
I can honestly say, having eaten in 3 different Village hotels, the cooked breakfasts in each hotel tasted awful. Honestly, the sausages and bacon, have no taste whatsoever. And before you ask why I had a cooked breakfast in 3 hotels when I complain it is so bad, the answer is because I thought (wrongly) on each occasion maybe it was a one off. After the 3rd attempt I gave up, concluding it truly is the worst cooked breakfast out there. By all means go for the cereal and fruits... they cant get that wrong can they???? Surely not.. (shock)
@Dolcie72 the price is for 2 people.
just beware we booked a promo room they cancelled twenty four hours after confirmation of our booking
Just booked for 23rd-24th December in Newcastle as my autistic son loves this hotel for their pool. Cost £59 for a club room with breakfasts and early check in. Brill deal
Not too bad then
Just finished the last of my Sunday nights for £10, thanks for that op whoever you were :D
You have to look under offers in top left corner.
No not on anymore
Guys, is this offer still on? I cannot find it on their website and they I did not receive their email for this offer. anyone can help? thank you
Had a great stay. Got upgraded for £11. Food wasn’t great but they comped us free drinks as an apology. Would stay again. Thanks again op!
Stayed in Cardiff no problem either but will not return as too noisy, walls are so thin, lots of door slamming throughout the day and night.
Stayed in Swindon no problems either
This deal doesn't seem to be active anymore.
Coventry is v close and v nice
Yeah just want a base to travel around area and Llandudno, Cheshire Oaks. Betse Coed. It's perfect for us location wise.
"Bit out of centre"! Have you been there? It's on a business park in Wales (and quite a tired hotel too). Good at this price if the location suits but I don't think it's one of their finest!
Thanks op. Booked for Christmas shopping in Chester. Have I got this right that you have to get a club room if you want free access to the pool
PS - Google reviews etc show this is a recurring issue for Village Hotels - I found various other customers saying they had no hot water for the duration of their stay!
DO NOT STAY IN THESE HOTELS! I stayed in ‘Chester’ St David’s last week and there was no hot water to the entire hotel (140 rooms) from 17:00 Thursday night until at least 11:00 Friday morning. A hotel without hot running water for 18+ hours? I checked out and checked into the Ramada in Wrexham due to this. Staff were rude and unhelpful, so rude it was unbelievable, and this was apparently the Reception Manager I was speaking to! Absolute joke. No refunds have been issued yet either; I’ve had to call and chase yesterday to see why a) they’ve not refunded me and b) why their staff display zero customer service. I also had to change rooms initially as my window was broken, it was freezing in the room and the guttering was overflowing, and all I could hear was that. Absolute disgrace of a hotel and the worst I’ve ever stayed in by far.
Yes, actually being in Wales is a bit cheeky. I actually did enjoy the hotel, but I had a car. Chester was excellent.
Why do i even bother checking anymore "from £59" and can barely find below £140
Beware, they vary - some of them are rather tired now. Great at these prices but I would have been very disappointed with the 'Chester' one (actually on a business park in Wales!) if I'd paid anywhere near rack rate.
That was for 2 rooms on the same night. I had to book them separately since the server was down
Great find just booked a £35 room with breakfast (y)
Is the reason I can’t book because I am in Spain at the minute? Wouldn’t have thought that would matter.
I noticed that although the headline offer states Thu Fri Sun, it does say 'limited Saturdays available' in smaller text. Its all booked under the same offer so yes should be brekkie included. A good tip with these Village special rates is that although they don't include access to the pool and gym, you can often bag a cheap upgrade to a club room which does include it. Around 24hrs before you get an email inviting you to bid on an upgrade- I bid the lowest possible at £7 and its always accepted. This has worked 2 or 3 times for me, but my parents do it all the time and always get it accepted too.
I just got a sat night through the advertised offer ...chances of brekkie being included???as it states thu, fri, sun(which i just noticed).but the sat was there for £35 so worth a punt
Blackpool is nice and next to the zoo. Bury is in a great location to see manchester and a decent hotel/restaurant too.
Glasgow and Newcastle are both decent glasgow one is only 2 or 3 years old.
Brilliant thanks, just booked the pompey 1... Need to crash 1 night prior to Southampton cruise. Perfecto... Thanks to poster. 😁
Can't complain for this price. However the food is awful
Stayed a load of times at Newcastle and the rooms are clean and tidy. Very comfortable beds and full Satellite TV (club rooms only). For the price they are brilliant.
Agreed. Have stayed in a few different ones now and the food isn't great. Rooms, bathrooms, the pools are all good and great for a cheap stopover when a deal is on. Wouldn't choose to eat there again if other options were close by.
Booked for this Sunday. Don't pay for the breakfast when booking, they will email you after offering it cheaper along with room upgrades :)
Some hotels allow the Sunday before August Bank Holiday
Did this on Sunday as needed to be somewhere too early to drive on Monday. It's not exactly 5 star luxury but customer service was good, food was alright, room was a good size and ultimately it cost £50. Stopped at the Village hotel by Newcastle last year for a couple of nights and had a similar experience - £29 a night. Very satisfied customer.
I have to disagree. We did this deal last weekend and the food was excellent and of high quality. This is not your typical weatherspoon food! My only gripe was the restaurant, the pub was closed for refurb so all the pissheads were in the restaurant.
My guess would be because it's not so much a freebie as it is 50% extra free. Or 1.5 pints for the price of 1, you still have to pay is the point I guess.
It’s normal beer and you get a free drin, not sure what’s not to like ;( 👌
Why so cold?
Still better than Carlsberg!
I've stayed at village hotels over 40 times and have never had an experience anything like what you describe.
Alright if you like sleeping in a sauna, no aircon and windows open only an inch
Agreed others are better but if your looking to book some where anyway, may as well get a discount!
Pretty naff deal compared to some of their other ones.
newcastle one the staff are arsey, room key had to be replaced 5 times and the bedroom was 2 star at best
There are loads of them just use the links above not yours and put in more than 2 people per room, single dates though.
What dates did you get?
Just booked family room in Newcastle during school holidays for £29.
This one actually shows good prices in quite a few hotels some from £29
Not voting but the menu wasn't exciting
The worst food ever truly ! Avoid.
Are the portion sizes for girls or MEN?
Much cheaper to book two separate consecutive nights for some reason
Cheaper stay with Blackpool promotions. Get your meals and heavily discounted tickets for pleasure beach thrown in. Advert said £22.50 not £59, all i found was £89 but enjoy.
Yes that’s an option but it would be preferable to be together. Thanks
No air con at these hotels and windows only open about an inch
How about booking two rooms lol
I don't even like 90% pork sausage (lol)
In the hope that it must get better each time! Lol. It didn't! Steer well clear.
Only the best eh?
Why'd ya keep going then??
Why does this keep getting posted?
Extra £30 for breakfast
Does this include breakfast?
nothing in glasgow!
Booked a night in March this year, the Beast from the East met up with storm Emma, every cross Pennine Road was closed. Village hotel would only allow us to change to the following Friday at a £10.00 surcharge plus, pay the ridiculous full rate! Wrote my full prepayment to Village Hotel off as an avoid at all costs hotel chain.
Just wondered if this deal will come up anytime before August thanks
Has this deal gone?
Found £32 for 2 nights in August in Swindon - that’s even less than £8.75pppn. Booked last week though. Great deal but I agree, weird implementation
Aint found £8.75 for one night! Has anyone found this???
I might try this for my booking. I'd use the gym and pool. I wish they had a similar deal for breakfasts. Last year there was an option to add breakfasts for just £5.
No problem. Enjoy :D
thanks for your reply, we having a look round the green area and walks so that's great. Much appreciated. :D
Fine for a stopover - that's where we're staying next too. It used to be a De Vere hotel, so slightly different from some of the others in style, but still happy to stay there. The pub food is usually good - burgers, flatbreads, wraps, ribs etc. There's also a Marston's pub just across the road which does carvery etc (The Running Hare) if you prefer.
Booked thanks a lot
Booked earlier today for chester. We only need as stop over.Is it ok for that ?
