Genuine question.....why do people display crockery ?

I guess in the olden days it was a display of weath?

They look very nice!

Vintage denotes the year of production, so all plates are vintage by the poundland definition.

Banned

Every bit as good as Denby

As Jim Royle would say 'vintage? My ****'!!

Vintage? Dishwasher safe so I think not!!

Classically, the word 'Vintage' was used to describe items that were too old to be considered modern, but not old enough to be considered antique.

My own definition would be >40 years old! (some definitions use older than 1920, younger than 1990)

Take your pick...'Vintage' is a just a way of hiking up price.

This crockery is made by Churchill and were originally very expensive. I have this set and love it. It is dishwasher safe. It is vintage inspired, not vintage. If they have it in my local Poundland, then I think I might just empty the shop of them!!

That's my afternoon sorted!

Noticed on the poundland site they've also got stainless steel balti dishes and serving trays as well, been after some for a while and can't go wrong at a pound a piece.
