Not the same I must add but after eating on a dining car in Thailand and South Africa. Truly unforgettable memories.
I think this is the Spa Valley Railway. I went on that with a Groupon voucher and it was rubbish. The trip is short and the views aren't great. Hopefully the meal makes up for it but I really doubt it. If you can get to it, the steam train from Tenterden to Bodium is so much better (the views are great) and if you have National Trust Bodium Castle is a much nicer place to plod around than Eridge.

Huge fan of heritage railways, sadly I agree.

It's not a particularly long journey. I'd suggest taking advantages of the various stops which are great.
I live just outside Leeds. It'll cost me a fortune to get to Eridge and back! I'll stick with the Settle to Carlisle route thank you.

All these railways have to start somewhere, go on the trip, help them out, & they can improve on the facilities in the future.
I get a vintage travelling experience every day commuting with greater Anglia railways!

True
Fort William to Mallaig route on West Coast is probably the best..
Jacobite, the slim beast..
I have been on the Spa Valley quite a few times and whilst it is a brief ride there are various points along the way.
High Rocks is an amazing place and another place you can get off and walk to is Groombridge Place, which is brilliant for children and adults. These 2 alone will take a whole day to visit, it does make it more expensive but Groupon do vouchers quite often, if anyone is interested in maxing out their day.
