Please pin this comment. I’m in the middle of getting connected with Virgin and if there is no previous connectivity to the house in question then it’s a long old wait. Was supposed to be installed today and they have pushed back 3 weeks. Just a word of caution in such volatile times like this. Hope this helps also if you have issues lately it’s very difficult to resolve in regards to engineers coming out.
Shame their customer service is awful, has put me off even with this offer being available again

If the property has had virgin in the past then i wouldnt worry much however if this is a new connection... then i would be concerned as i moved in on the basis i would have internet to work remotely and they’ve ballsed all my plans and now i’m stuck with no internet tv or phoneline for 3 weeks (Minimum)

Did you just move to this property? Or are you switching from another provider?

Did you get the recent glitch deal for £10 or are you going for this very offer?
I’m a new customer but got a non-controversial deal such as yourself.
Took these up on an offer last week after a house move.
Selected self set-up and had all the equipment delivered within 5 day's.
Plugged it all in, up and running within an hour.
Can't fault them.

Did they just call you on the day to say they can’t install it ? And why is it taking them another 3 weeks when buying online now it taking less than 2 weeks

they’re either telling you or telling me porkie pies. They have to do “construction” at the front of my house to run the network into my house. They came yday to do a pre install check and the techie goes straight up. They arent going to install tomorrow as you have no network coming in to the house. And then i got an email on the day of my supposed installation date (today) to say its rescheduled to 29th. Very unhappy and unlucky tbh.

He sure is, one of the very biggest, even bigger than the biggest. In fact the biggest parasite there could be.
Be warned that if you cant receive a strong or good signal in different parts of the property, that they will try and offer virgin own wifi boosters...but they rent them to you. Stand youre ground and you will get them for free, took me awhile but go there in the end. Contract comes to a end at the end of the month....thank the lord!

Maybe why it’s happened to you is you moving into a property that is a new build or hasn’t had any internet connection before.... I’m sure something like this happens to my cousin , did you buy online? I ordered online and it asked for my address and landline and it said good news you can get fibre , If you got yours online shouldn’t it flag up saying there no previous network or somthing

Great Broadband though and Branson only has a small stake now.

Yeah that mad ! I would be vexed to but it seems like this wouldn’t have happened if you already had network wiring running to the house like most of us then they can easily install the virgin socket which previous customer will already have so they can chose self set up option, it like asking currys to install a cooker but my new build hasnt even had the gas pipes installed by the person who built the home so they have to reschedule until you do

If there was a previous connection with Virgin or NTL then you should be fine. If they’ve never been supplied to the address then you MAY find yourself in the same situation which i hope you do not. Really been drawn the short straw here with Virgin.

My contract with Virgin ended in January. I called them 3 times I don't want to extend and they still charging me, double the price. Worst company ever.
Can i get a "new customers only" deal from virgin if i sign up again using my wife's name?
Also does anyone know if the 108mb deal with £75 credit is currently available?
Here is a tip to knock off £35 installation fee. When before placing the order chat to a agent on the live chat. Ask them after abit of conversation if that can knock of the fee and I found 4 out of 5 will give you a code that they generate to credit and remove the fee. I placed my order and it worked.

That’s exactly what I done but there a high risk you won’t get £130 tcb so I removed the discount code

That’s not good , to be honest I have been with nearly all big provider and every single one has service and customer service issues , just go on any review page and every company will have 1 stars with similar complaints , only provider I haven’t been with is virgin and i am not expected anything different from all the other providers. However if you cancel I’d expect it to be cancelled hope you get that sorted soon

I am not sure , you may have to tell them you rent part of your property and there a new customer and see if they will do it. As for the £75 credit I am not aware or have seen them offer that recently. If they did I highly doubt you would get that and £130 topcashback
Might be worth waiting for them to offer rewards again.
I'm waiting for my free Nintendo Switch and £170 TCB.

Same here, I'm still waiting for them to install mine... Couldn't do it the first time they came around as they could not get on to the roof of the tower block where I live as they had no key... Even though I'd told them before that they would have to contact the council so that they could be granted permission.... Coming again on Friday.. This is all delaying my switch
Installed in december, still waiting for £30 cashback... hope dying with every passing day
