They gave me 3 months free on 25/month, so this looks expensive, hopefully there'll be better offers in 2 months.
Not bad. I'm currently paying £40 for 100MB and landline I've not used in years

Crazy isn't it. You just get used to paying it and justify the cost as the home entertainment and home working relies on a fast internet connection.

Yes, I get you, many moons ago I'd be the same, however when you see what other people are getting it at you start to think. I've seen that people have previously managed to get 100mb broadband on virgin for less than £20! Anyway £25 is an easy figure to aim for. I've been on Virgin and when it worked was excellent but sadly in my area has quite a few down times.
I just realised yesterday, my payment went from £33 to £38 (didn't even get a letter about price increase) for up to "100mb" (yes up to bcs you never get actual 100mb yesterday 7.30pm my speed was 17mb, according to my measure I only get 100mb between 2-5.30 am). I think their pricing is joke considering you never get what you actually pay for, their excuse is always the speed is up to. FFS I am paying always full price. And you only provide services up to. It is 21st century and the internet services in UK overall are out of date.
I can't change provider due to Virgin is the only Fibre Optic in my area. And when I call them I always get frustrated and angry bcs of their silly excuses.
I will make a call today.
I'm currently on 200mbps for 25 per month with virgin.
There deals not the best at moment. They taking advantage of the current situation.

Never that lucky, I'm on £45 108meg no phone mix tv

How?

I canceled in the hope they would call before the month notice period was up. They offered me it for 30. The first bill come out at 40 I think so called and the English woman said she could do it for 25. It made my day.
Cold. I am M100 for less than £20. Got it just after lockdown started.
VM are getting ridiculous

Have just noticed they have moved me from paying £35 a month to £55. Phoned up and they can offer me 50mb for £32. I've told them to forget it.

Now I've got 30 days to sort something else out.

We've only ever had Virgin, we only use BB. We don't have a BT Line although there is a box outside the door (nothing inside).

I think my options are:

Get some kind of mobile broadband and router (would that be good enough for lots of netflix use?)
Sign up for a new VM account in my wife's name instead of mine.
Sign up for a phone line based BB - but would an engineer be able to come out at the moment?
Wait and see if VM phone me with a better deal.

Just pees me off that after being with them for 13 years, they can't do anything.

Currently on up to 100mbs but get a good constant 50mbs

i've been told their retention and callback teams are not calling anyone back during lockdown. they have just offerred me 100 for 33 pounds, i was paying 27. I can see a deal on uswitch for £27 but don't have anyone else's name to put it under. can we use the same name again for Virgin as a new customer?
Please give generously, Branson needs to bail out his airline.
£42 a month for 100mb ??? Mines only £45 for 250mb
I'm wondering about this, looking at my contract online on my virgin homepage it mentions a schedule of increases I pay £19.99 at the moment and in May it will go up to £25 and in July £35,I only have broadband, can I even try and get out of these future increases or am I unlikelt to get anything for less than £25,I certainy can't afford to pay £35 a month in July and then of course after that their will be the usual prices increases,I think that's a crazy price for broadband.
Could ayone advise what I should do,I have very limited income as I survive on carers allowance, and it worries me when the price increases are due

Hi, I have just renewed mine recently, I was paying £30 pcm for broadband and weekend calls. It was due to go up to £50 after my contract period ends in May but when I called they readily offered me the same discount again for another 12mths which they further reduced to £28 when pushed a little. I know others are on better rates than this for the 100Mb package but they seem less willing to offer big discounts at the moment.

So basically talk to them, you should be able to get some sort of discount and not end up paying full price.

Is that the lowest that they do now,as I didn't want 100mb but have noticed that's what I have when looking at my Virgin homepage,I said I didn't want that free upgrade as there is no such thing as a free lunch with Virgin, you ened up paying for things that you had been told were free

Thanks,I cancelled but I suppose I will have to ring them back at some point as I don't think they will get back to me this year
It was a guy on a mobile number that rang me today,I asked him to send me a copy of the contract to my e mail and he said I would have it in the next 15 minutes but I didn't receive it.
I would suggest to you all make sure that you record your phone call,I use CUBE ACR on Android

Is is straightforward to take a new contract in our wife's name? My initial costs were £27 for landline and 108Mbs and that went up to £51, so I rang them yesterday and he offered me £41 pcm.... but if I added a tv package I could have that for £45. No way, Pedro! I like the 100mbs fibre though, but I'd love to cancel and have my mrs. as a 'new customer'

I ended up leaving. The best they could offer me was £37 for £100mb BB only. I said as a new customer I could get it for £28. The guy was nice about it and could see where I was coming from. I asked to speak to someone in retentions and he said he was retentions. I told them they could forget it unless they could match £28.

About 2 days later a woman phoned from a mobile, and said she had been passed my details from xxxx in the retentions team. I was a little sceptical at first with it being a random mobile number but she was able to prove it was virgin. I also didn't need to give any details at that point. She said they would do the 100mb BB for £26 a month. I accepted that, she said the new details would come through via email from Virgin, which they did about 24 hours later.

So they are still working and they are still offering decent enough offers.

Yes, well they gave me a date. It was 30 days from that conversation. I got an email through that day to confirm the cancellation date and to give instructions about returning the equipment (the instructions were to save them until the covid-19 stuff has passed)

Just signed up for another 12 months at £23.50 for 100MB and landline. This was after arranging for disconnect at end of May.

The price isn't as low as I would have liked but it's 50 pence less than I was paying and its certainly a lot cheaper than the £42 they were going to bump it up to.

Surely that counts as a price rise that gives you the right to get out of your contract?
I was £33.50 112mbps , big bundle, after April 3rd £54.50. I don't watch television, i could go back to Plusnet where i was very happy, if i don't what number do i call for 'retentions'. If it's 1 of those hateful fellas that just winds me up with rudeness, i'm not in the mood for them. So, again, who do i call or which links to press. Thank you in advance for help. Thanks to folk who sent me cheerful messages early this month - appreciated.

I'm getting rid of VM sick of their price increases and going to replace with either Voxi £10 SIM(unlimited data at moment) or a Vodafone cashback SIM. Depends how long voda take to sort out Voxi.
