Virgin Media 50MB & Unlimited Anytime Landline £31.00 12 Month Contract *Retention*

Cancelled my contract last weekend was paying £45.00 and had letter of price increase. The loyalty or retention team rang me today and offered me these deals in which I accepted the offer. Dont know if its a good deal but couldnt find it on there website. So you must cancel your contract and 2 days later they will offer you a deal to stay.

Take it there is no tv package in that deal? Although I don't really need tv package if I've got decent broadband.
You can get cashback and 200mb speed for same price from uswitch. Retentions try to make fool of you . Try to join as new customer or student and get much better prices.

we cancelled ours yesterday as contract was up (phone+broadband) just needed internet so was offered £23 a month for 50mb speed, fine for us but im sure theres better deals people have got
note : those on 50mb will be automatically upgraded to 100mb very soon for free. i currently have 50mb and no phone for £27 a month via retention deal.
still the most expensive provider on the market
Not a very great deal, I have been offered 100MB plus weekend calls for £26 and 100MB plus Anytime for £32.

On virgin media website, for new customers a promotion is ongoing until 27 September to "Get Talk More Anytime included at no extra cost with selected bundles online!"

so Player TV VIVID plus 100 fibre broadband + Talk More Anytime for £33 a month for 12 months

combine this with quidco/topcashback or friend referral :-)

No they wont
Those on 70mb will be upgraded to 100mb.
cold!!!

You can get 100mb + unlimited anytime landline + player bundle for £33 new customers until tommorow
Link for the deal
This a way better deal that the one found by OP, and if you call them, maybe you can get it cheaper
I called them a few times. The retention team are no longer that bothered about retention. New customer offers are significantly better and I was just met with computer says no... Tried a few times with different operators but best I could get is similar to the above

I found that true too. However after cancelling and initiating a switch to Vodafone, I got a call from Virgin offering £21 for 50Mbps. I asked for a callback to confirm, as I wanted to cancel the Vodafone deal first and managed to get 100Mbps for £20! I don't need the land line so this worked out well for me.

Might be worth putting in your cancellation and waiting for a call?

Getting 78mb and would you adam and eve it, just went on speedtest and Virgin dropped out for a few minutes , it rarely happens.

A cancellation request has to go in and then usually a few days later they will call up.
there is a threat over on MSE with what deals people have received
We got 200mbps with the newest hub for £26 per month
Signed up recently for another 12 months on £20 per month 100mb and weekend calls. No line rental charge for second year running- keep negotiating!
One of the worst companies in existence. Had nothing but trouble with them.
There is a better deal for £33 with TV included.

To cancel do you give notice directly to virgin? Or do you make Vodafone do this?
Just looked on the VM website cant see anything anywhere near the offers stated above. I am paying £52 a month for 50mb landline and all calls having had it steadily increased from August last year when it was £38. If I thought for one minute I could get one of the deals above I would cancel it after finishing this message but am a little worried that after I cancel these offers will not be available.. I realise some of them apparently are due to finish tomorrow.
I ideally I would like to stay on VM as all the messing about changing email address doesn't excite me.
They've announced an upgrade which includes a speed increase - think it was 50meg and under would double, over and up to 100 would increase. This is free, of course, providing you overlook this price increase beforehand...
I'm on 70mb broadband and unlimited phone for £19 a month but i had to initiate a move to BT to get that. They are getting a bit meaner than they use to be
I pay £18.25 for 72mb fiber optic only......
I don't know why ppl in this country are obsessed with downloading speed when uploading is actually more important which is crap in this country

I cancelled then did not answer their calls for two weeks. Had two weeks left on my contract and they were desperate to keep me by then.

I could not get better than £31 for 150mb internet only. I cancelled but they never called back. i phoned up day before cancellation, a month later, and went with £31.

some people get good offers, mainly because they don't use much internet. I think mine was near to 600gb per month average.

I am constantly online streaming 4k and downloading games and movies. I would say my usage is very high. Just luck I guess?

I gave notice directly to Virgin and then joined Vodafone.

I didn't expect the call, which is why I asked for a callback so that I could cancel my contract with Vodafone before carrying on with Virgin.

It was a bit of a hassle and time consuming (being on hold with Vodafone for 40mins+!) and I don't normally go to and fro after cancelling and switching. But the Vodafone deal was based on me receiving a free gift, selling it for £150 and also for tcb to track! A lot of things that might not have happened so the Virgin deal of £20/month was a no brainer.
